I adopted my first pitty when he was 3 years old from a shelter. He was at the shelter for 2 years because he was a pitt bull, no one wanted him. He also came from a drug house, was a drug house guarding dog ( fail, he loved everyone). the local sheriff dept along with animal control did a rail and took him and a few other "guard" dogs into custody along with their owners. Owners went to jail, dogs went to the shelter untill they were legally released to be adopted. Hooch was the last one to leave the shelter after 2 years waiting for a home. However, he became the shelter favorite among staff, he became their "temperment tester dog". He was so chill with other dogs, that they would use him to temperment test new dogs into the shelter to see how reactive they were. No matter how much other dogs were reactive to and wanting to fight or get aggressive with Hooch, Hooch would just bounce the dogs off and try to play with them or at the least ignore their attempts to be assertive and fight. Hooch wasent interested and it was clear he was a lover. 2 years passed and he was still in the shelter untill I came along. I asked the pound master, I am looking for a dog that is older, mellow tempered, is young enough to go on a jog but ok to hand out and chill too. Kinda looking for a dog that is easy going, not going to maul my cats or the neighborhood kids sorta dog. Without a break, he said you want Hooch. He told me his history b4 the pound, his history of behavior since at the pound and that he was everyones (staff and volunteers) favorite pound dog...BUT....He is a pitt bull. He knew foks didnt adopt the pittys but he never lost hope that someone would come along some day and not care he was a pitty. I had Hooch for 10 years..he met hundreds of friends in many states. He never knew a stranger. He was a big brother to many kittens and a foster brother to a few dogs who needed physical as well as emotional healing. He was my trail joggin pal and knew everyone on our walk through town. He was my friend, a gift to all who met him..and the biggest pitt bull Ive seen. Since I have volunteered many hours at shelters, Ive met many pittys like him..they just need a chance with a person who willl socalize them well and take the time to train them.. they are incredible animals...

My husband and I adopted a 3 year old pitbull from a shelter shortly before we married. We were her 4th owners. She stayed with us, until we lost her to cancer just shy of her 13th birthday. She was awesome with our kids from the moment they were born. She had the best temperament of any dog I've ever seen. So, when another came our way, we didn't hesitate to bring her home. Our 2nd pitbull was literally skin and bones. She had been abused and dumped. 4 days after bringing her home, she came down with parvo. We rushed her to the vet and came out with iv bags, meds, and instructions. We went through all the headaches of cleaning the mess, watching over her, and nursing her back to health. Shes now a very loving member of our family and great with everyone. And just 6 weeks ago, another one came our way, much younger, and has a forever home with us too. Shes full of life and spunky. They truly are great dogs for the right people. Yes, being an attentive and responsible owner who trains their dogs plays a huge role in it. I don't regret any of them for a second. Oh, and its the jack Russell and corgi mix who is in charge. Not the pitbulls.

Cars are probably the most misunderstood animals because people dont necessarily like their mysterious nature. I happen to love cats have been around them my whole life and find them incredibly fascinating. I have often felt that if people don't like cats it's because they have never really gotten to know them. House cats share95% of their DNA with Tigers which is probably why they are such good hunters. In short cats are pawsome and rule the internet with their silliness.

I have owned a Collie, Springer Spaniel, two English Bulldogs, a Boston Terrier, and a Labrador Retriever in my 73 years. The BEST dogs I have ever owned was a Pitbull given to us by a woman who could not handle a young pet as well as a newborn child and we rescued a Staffordshire Bull Terrier from a prisoner rebab program in Kentucky that was closing and getting rid of personnel as well as prisoner therapy dogs. I will always own a Pitbull or bull terrier from now on. Absolutely the most fun, intelligent and obedient dogs (early training and discipline is a must) I have ever owned. --Mike

Just because some bible translations translate "Re'em" as unicorn does no mean that's the correct translation. Rhino or wild ox is a much more likely meaning. Re'em describes a powerful animal with one or two long horns that point towards the sky. Google two horned rhino.

Dolphins are said to be almost as intelligent as humans? Humans get drunk, do drugs. They seem to do the same. Maybe they are more like us then we realise.
