@@sirAlexander_T hey, thanks for stopping by! Yeah, the game has been an absolute hot mess, especially since the December update....I have however had zero problems related to logging in and erroring whilst in game all this week. Compared to what it was in December it's been a dream for me , but, you are correct in what you say...if you're not happy to push past a lot of bugs and most of them game breaking at times - then keep your money in your pocket until full release I guess!

@@FuriousImp 😂 yeah I've heard the issues a lot of the player base has had with elevators....I've been lucky and haven't experienced an elevator not working - I avoid the major cities and don't use the land based bases so maybe I've got lucky at space stations. @dangleebitz did you see saltemike's reaction video of the announcements of our Christ and savior Mr. Robert's promises to start working on playability in 2018... and again is more recent years? It's worth a watch. I'll see what they do without taking their words at face value. I'll judge them by their actions and not their words.

@FuriousImp and yes we should all judge them by their actions....or lack of as the case has been since I've been playing recently...broken freight elevators, constant server errors, there are plenty of bugs that have been around for a long time that they seemingly don't care about. It seems recently they're only interested in patching a few things once they are about to launch a new ship or a ship sale. The only difference I can see is that the funding of the game didn't appear to be effected back in 2018 so maybe they didn't feel enough pressure to fix it all, but as many people have noted - their recent years pledges do look like they are declining and that may be why they are reluctantly going to spend some time on playability. They've also just cancelled the fee fly event for the first time ever , maybe because they KNOW that there's no point drawing more people to a game that simply doesn't work to the point of not even being able to log in and spawn about 90% of the time as was my case last week or so. But like I say, the past few days I've had zero issues and I'm hoping they carry on implementing changes that this dedicated community deserves. But no, not seen his video as yet, I'll try catching up on it soon though, thanks for the recommendation!

I also used Freelancer Max for this, you can rent it at Baijini Point (cargo center). And once I got enough money (about a week of so, with all the bugs) I bought myself a Constellation Taurus, which can carry even more, I can fit all 50 missions plus one 53 mission and on the return trip the 73k mission.

Why not just do this near grimhex, fill up your ship all the way, and sell at grimhex? You can fit 39 scu in the vulture. Start loading the right side. Take all boxes from next run out and then stack them infront of the compactor and fill up the ship fully. Then do another 13scu run but dont make boxes. Then when you get to hanger, unload ship and print the last 13 boxes. Then just sell at grimhex. Easy 360k an hour

@@jordanlovesdubstep this is a viable option too, I only gave the example of the way I did it due to my experience with grim hex (I've been attacked there a few times and lost my entire haul haha) The current way I'm doing it is directly outside of Beautiful Glen station, then running it back to the station to quick sell it at the hidden terminal! Whichever way works for you is great 👍 I also explained that I rarely fill the entire grid area up as I've blown up a couple of times in the past but it's risky Vs reward - if you're happy to roll the dice then go for it for the extra money 🤑. As another comment mentioned, the Hull A is a cheaper rental and can carry more cargo. I find it less enjoyable to fly than the Cutlass, but that's a preference thing. It's nice having the external cargo grid, though. I always feel like it's less secure but when it's contracted cargo I don't care as much haha. I've always been able to pick up every single Direct Planetary Extra Small contract going from my chosen station down to the nearby planet, and even with the slight variance in number of contracts and amount of boxes everything's fit in a single load with no overspill boxes. So a near-guaranteed 300-350k per trip, and that profit only goes up if you bother looking for the contract(s) from planet back to station. When I do use the Cutlass for these small hauls I find it quite a bit easier to land with one of my side doors facing the freight elevator, I can generally get close enough that just my multitool has more than enough range for me to be able to stand in a single spot and never need to move, only pivot to both load and unload. Again though, that's down to preference - I like that the Cutlass has that option. I love these cargo missions, when the servers are stable enough to allow it, but I'm kind of disappointed that delivery contracts weren't working for all of 4.0 so far. Hoping they're fixed when 4.0.1 is ready to be pushed to live servers, even if those are generally less profitable I just think it's a really fun way to explore the 'verse and find the occasional loot box along the way. I had grand plans of exclusively doing those to build up my first million credits, but I decided it wasn't worth waiting for and I'm now several million credits beyond that original goal haha.

@dangleebitz I've only been in two Connies, I think one was the Taurus though. Very nice ships, but I can't decide if I want to go for one myself. Currently saving up for a Caterpillar, it's my favorite ship even if I'll almost never actually use that much cargo space haha. I picked up the Cutlass Black and Vulture from doing cargo hauls with a rented Hull A, and from there I'm just taking it slow and playing crewmember for friends until the servers are more stable and I can make my trips with a full Cutlass of RMC without a hangar door slamming shut on me.

@@dangleebitz My current pledge is the Cutter, I've been considering upgrading it to the Cutlass Black though. I really like that ship, and as you say it's a better "quick start" sort of ship. Only thing really holding me back (besides money lol) is it's so nice having something permanently tied to my account that I can expedite the claim in just over a minute. Suppose that'll be less and less necessary as servers stabilize and hangars stop eating our ships though, and during this alpha phase where even ships bought in-game are effectively permanent until the next wipe (which should be a long ways off at this point). Hm, I may have just talked myself into it lol.

I dont regret the upgrade, I plan on sinking many hours in this game - even in its current state it has bought me many hours of great entertainment already. When I was in your shoes and worried somewhat about the money side of it....I see it as paying for that entertainment...some people pay Netflix etc a monthly fee and if you pay say $10 a month for that kind of service that's $120 a year (a cutlass black) lol so if you also plan on spending a year invested in this game I don't really see the difference lol. But hey, it is somewhat of a gamble as a lot of people aren't really sure if the developers are actually going to finish this game, the choice has to be yours but even if the game collapsed tomorrow - I'd have still got more than my money's worth of entertainment from it!

Another option for such short trips between station & main city below would be to rent a Hull A, 64 scu grid, all externally loaded so it's easier imo to load/unload and the rental is 34k/day from any cargo center. Hull A grid can easily handle up to 16scu crates. I have noticed that extending open the cargo grid can be a little buggy, but if you store and recall the ship, it should work properly again. I also would suggest that when you deliver your contracts, check if there are any contracts to haul from your delivery spot (Area 18) back to your preferred starting point (Baijini), instead of deadheading (going back empty).
