it's always hard to lose a horse that changed you, I had the option to save my horse but I knew he'd be in pain the rest of his life and it would be selfish of me to make him miserable.

I'm so so so so sorry for your loss!!! Its like your whole world ends. Trust me I had to go through my animals king (dog) angle (wolf) Bentley, Felix, and whiskers (my 3 cats) and now I have a horse named champ and I would be devastated if he had passed away or if I had to put him down. If I would ever have to I would definitely know it was for the best if he was in pain. Like I said I'm so so so so sorry for your loss. I hope you feel so much better.

I lost my mare wispa who I'd had for nearly 12yrs January 31st 2015 to colic it's always the hardest decision to put them to sleep but was the only kind option took on a pony from rescue place and am enjoying time with her but at present she's lame needs x-ray's and I've said it don't know if I'll be able to cope if she has to be on bute permanently as went through it with wispa if it happens she may return to rescue place which will be a hard decision. I still think of wispa a lot she was there through a number of things abbey not much but been there

you must have been so depressed and sad and devastated I'm so sorry I know how you feel I had a horse named ginger and i was her eyes and she was my soul but then one day I wasn't home and when I got back she wasn't there and till this day she will always be in my heart I loved her just as much as you loved him she was a dappled gray mare and she was the sweetest thing ever, but when I got home the day she was gone I broke out in tears thinking I would never see her again

I can't believe you formed such a bond. I would LOVE to have a horse like that I ride but the horse I ride gets spooked easily so once I've galloped without knowing the canter yet but my trainer didn't mean for that to happen

I'm so sorry. I hope she lives a happy joyful life in heaven, and for her to die so young... That's heartbreaking for you to have her for what... a year or so? That's.... just... bad that she had such pain for her, And we all wish horses were invincible, but sometimes things are hard and downhill, and I see that you went through everything to try to fix your darling, but it didn't end up well, so you made a hard, solving decision to put her down, but it was the right one, and I'm glad you didn't put the poor horse through a life of pain.
