My uncle had cancer in chemo and we were at the house watching this game and he was skin and bones at this point. I will never forget when Devery caught that ball he nearly fell out the chair and we were celebrating in the living room. Great memory.

You're thinking of the Jim Hawthorne LSU radio call. This is the Kentucky radio call.

After the FG, it was game over 99% of the time. I do not know why, but something told me just keep watching. Everyone, even my father, turned it off. I called a few people who were pissed, and I revealed the news. Oh, their tone changed quick lol. Of course, I sat in shock for a few minutes first. That was a great day.

I was listening to the game on the radio with earphones on while working offshore. I had disgustingly took them off before the game ended. A coworker announced on the hand radio set the final score. I immediately put the earphones in and Jim Hawthorne was still going nuts and apologizing for missing the call. He thought it was Jack Hunt. I was in shock and confused because JH was a defensive back. Lol

I still remember the "play of the game" being announced moments earlier which was Ky kicker Taylor Begley's FG. The announcers said LSU would have to regroup. My wife said hurry up and lets go eat but as a lifelong Ky football fan...I knew it was never over. But not THIS. I especially remember Saban...cool as a cucumber saying something like "he felt sorry the Ky kids...LSU doesnt really learn anything from a win like this." It has been awhile but WOW. On all counts. Crazy game.

LSU lost by 31 in the next week. I kinda doubt that was all bc they didn’t learn lessons by beating Kentucky. Sounds like poor coaching to me. 🤣🤣🤣

He nailed that one. I see so many talking about a miracle finish and how they’ll always remember that play, but they don’t think about the fact that they should take that game as a lesson more than a memory. If you need a miracle to win a game, then you have to use that to focus on improving instead of celebrating a lucky win.

Nick Saban still rarely talks about it. Such a process guy, the one interview I've seen about it he seems unhappy, apparently the result made LSU cocky in practice the next week...... and they got their teeth kicked in by a probation riddled Alabama the next game.

I was working a 2 week hitch in the Gulf of Mexico and I was listening to the game on my radio with earphones. I had taken the radio off for the last play and someone hollered on the 2 way, Tigers win. I couldn't believe it. Had to wait for the replay of the call. I'm like Jack Hunt doesn't play receiver. Lol only real Tiger fans will understand...😅

I was there and still have ticket. I almost left but didn't. I stopped at the tunnel entry leading to the LSU section when I heard the them going crazy and the band playing Touchdown LSU. I couldn't believe it. It was a miracle play. A game and day I will never forget. Thank you for the wonderful memory. Geaux Tigers 🐅

Who had the worst Walk of Shame? Kentucky's losing head coach walking over to shake hands with Nick Saban drenched in Gatorade or the Kentucky fans walking back UP to the stands who had prematurely ran on the field not knowing the hail mary was caught?👀🤔 I need answers below.

Nope i’ll never forget that game . Had the whole family over watching BUT my youngest son who was heart broken left the room before the miracle pass . He came out when he heard the hollering and celebrating. He takes after his mom , she missed a whale breaching next to our boat we were on a whale watching boat in Washington State . I saw it too .

I was an LSU student at the time. I was in my dorm, and before this play I went in my bathroom and kneeled down and said the Lord's Prayer. So glad I single-handedly win the game
