Thanks for checking out Boca! The one going crazy at the end was Siyeon, the main vocal. She had the longer dark hair in the blue dress. Typically, its her and Yoohyeon doing most of the heavy lifting but in recent releases they've started sharing the load more. Their most recent song, Justice, has ridiculous belts throughout the whole song and 5 or the 7 members contributed during recording. During the live stages, Siyeon was absent so two other members (Handong & Sua) stepped up and covered her parts in the live stages so 6 of the 7 have done them. I've no doubt that Dami could also do it but she's the only one who hasn't. Looking forward to Odd Eye!

Boca means "mouth" in Spanish and Portuguese and is part 2 of the Dystopia trilogy, which deals with bullying and hate comments, in particular the online variant ("A trick behind a mask, a ridiculous freak" from Scream). Boca has the lines "Why do you fill your precious time with hate" and "Too many angels dying now", which points to the effects those comments can have. Several Kpop idols have committed suicide in recent years, most likely because of cyber-bullying, but this is also about all the unnamed people who suffer from online bullies. A girlgroup tackling such a subject impresses the hell out of me. They literally go to war in this video and tell haters to go and shut their "Boca" in the lyrics. And the song is absolutely awesome! Who said you can't have three different musical genres in one song?

I can honestly say they are an enjoyable/fun group. Their songs have waaay more hits than misses. My fave MV is R.o.S.E BLUE. Scream was my first Dreamcatcher song too, and I immediately noticed how good their vocals were. Yoohyeon's 'Tell me why, I don't lie' made such an impression on me that she's become, and remained my bias till today.

One of them being exactly what I think you're thinking 💀 I can't quite tell what's going on in the mv, but it seems like they came in, took over the mansion, got what they wanted, shmurdered that white man and burned the mansion along with his body, leaving behind only his teeth (which Hongjoong got the diamond from at the end)

The Dystopia Trilogy (Scream, Boca, Odd Eye) and all the b-sides that came out that period is so insanely good. It's more than 20 amazing songs (an album and two EPs) in a two year period. Even today, it's some of their best work ever.

Recently at their Oakland concert, the music cut out midway through Scream so naturally they just... finished the song using their own vocals and the crowd singing along. No back track, no nothing, just talent. And they killed it (and then they did the full song again without the music cutting out for the sake of the crowd getting the full experience, because they're sweethearts)

Yes, please, more Dreamcatcher! This is my Ult Group in all of Music, not just in K-Pop. That is because they do a whole bunch of different genres and they do a GREAT job of all of it! In this MV and in 'Boca', one group member was missing. The group's only foreign member, Han Dong, is from Wuhan China and she got STUCK there for almost a year (because of that pesky world-wide problem we had) when she went back home to do a few things. The group did a great job as Six members during that time but they all missed Han Dong like crazy! It just literally was not the same without her. The fandom CELEBRATED when Dongie got back to SK! She came back stronger as a person, her Korean language skills improved and she had gained confidence. She's AWESOME. I mean, she was AWESOME before she left and now... While Dongie was stuck there, she even reacted to this MV and 'Boca' and at least one more that I can think of that took place around the same time as 'Scream', so JiU still had Purple in her hair (totally iconic!). Her reactions can be found on Dreamcatcher's channel. I can't help but compare cases between Dreamcatcher (when Han Dong got stuck in China) and ITZY, when Lia went on a year-long hiatus to take care of her mental health and anxiety issues. She needed the break and she deserves to be happy but we are SO GLAD To have her back! The group just was not the same without her and now they are back together and the group is whole. :) Incidentally, you will see the name Gahyeon in Dreamcatcher's older content like this. She has recently changed the English spelling of her name to Gahyun so now it matches the name on her passport. Newer content of theirs will have the new spelling. Same girl, same pronunciation of the name, just different spelling. :)

Welcome to the Dreamworld! Dreamcatcher are very unique. They are the dark angels of Kpop and the only girl group who consistently incorporate Rock and Metal in their title tracks, fusing that with Kpop into something that basically is a new genre. They also are drenched in horror and social criticism, which again is special. Plus, they are massively talented, all of them. And while the girls look like they could rip out your spine when they are on stage, off stage they are adorable crackheads. 😉 Scream is part 1 of the Dystopia trilogy, which is about cyber-bullying, hateful comments and people losing themselves in the (fake) online world. It is mostly showing the victim's perspective of (cyber)bullying, comparing it to a medieval witch hunt and a burning at the stake. The tree is the tree of language, and it grows black fruit for every hurtful thing people say. Note also the hand gesture, it is the devil's horns introduced by Ronnie James Dio as a symbol for metal, but it originally was a gesture in the middle ages to ward off the evil eye, tying into the witch hunt theme. I really enjoy the music, it's rock mixed with EDM. Dreamcatcher are always very creative, and they are in their own genre by this point.
