That's like an alcoholic saying they are drinking responsibly by having a "light" beer... If you are serious about reversing PCOS, get off of all addictive chemicals: • Caffeine • Nicotine • Alcohol • Carbs (sugar) Doing a zero-carb diet will reverse PCOS within one year in most cases.

Wait so I don’t really have any reactions after I eat. It’s after I lift really heavy weights at the gym that’s when I experience it. So it’s definitely hypoglycemia not hyperglycemia correct?

I just bought the snack shake version in dark chocolate, I do like how it fills me and tastes good, I am concerned now though after reading about their lawsuit with lead in higher amounts in 2020, and also about their recent class action for misleading the protein amount. Can we trust them?

Have been experiencing and doing research on this as I have battled with this for years and been brushed off. I finally have a CGM which has shown what I am feeling is reactive events which is very hard to capture with just finger pricks (yes these events feel like anxiety ridden trash or even similar to a feeling like being prompted towards a binge event then you learn your body is not wrong in directing you to go eat the carbs). Learning how to navigate diet and training around this and how to communicate my needs with a coach now. And same no diagnosis but just deal with it. 🙃 and the snack thing- I don’t want to chase symptoms with snacks, I would rather stress manage and use breathwork, even have a support pup now which has helped noteably.

Interesting stuff. I used to do the 1 gram of protein per pound of body weight too. But I read a couple studies posted in the NIH that by the end actually showed that for most individuals that regularly perform moderate to intense physical activities can benefit just from between 1 gram of protein per 1 to 2 kg of body weight. Which is a lot less than what a lot of gym goers think. Of course doing 1 gram of protein per 1 pound of body weight isn’t going to hurt any thing . But there generally does not appear to be any actual gains in performance or appearance in individuals when comparing the results from both. And it has been working for me just as well too. So more money in your pocket. Also if you are looking for some cheap good sources of protein check out Lentils! 100 grams of protein in a 1 pound bag for like a buck
@DarkBlueNutrition
@DarkBlueNutrition Ай бұрын
@@nicholaslandolt8912 Protein is one of those recommendations that changes constantly! The technical recommendation is about 0.8-1g/kg of body weight - which some say is more of a “minimum number” than a recommended intake number. But I think it really depends on activity level and goals. Usually I like to throw out a few options - and the one that feels the most reasonable and sustainable is best! And then if that number helps you with muscle building- amazing! If it doesn’t, you can always raise it from there. What do they say - you can’t change a habit that isn’t already established? So you might as well start small and build! Appreciate you sharing your experience and what works for you! You’re absolutely right - you don’t have to waste a ton of money to get excessive amounts of protein! Moderate is usually just enough!

so, my Fertility doctor explained to me that the birth control is extremely important when you're not menstruating because it is protecting your uterus. When we don't menstruate, we are at higher risk of ovarian, uterine, and other reproductive cancers. While I'm grateful my doctor had me on that protocol for years to help prevent those things and to better manage my pmdd, I'm now working with an Endocrinologist who took me off birth control and on to Metformin. I'm lovinggggg Metformin. Not only do I feel more "normal" emotionally/mentally and had my first period off birth control (like 3 weeks after stopping birth control - amazing), but I also have more energy. Now I'm able to exercise more and make better decisions. The metformin is temporary and my doctor is very open to my findings regarding nutrition and supplements and shes working with me to find the best protocol.

I do think making my own every night with old fashion oats, almond milk, chia seeds, honey & Greek yogurt. Fast and easy. Put blueberries in the mixture is great. Otherwise in the morning I use some granola, or banana & peanut butter. There’s all kinds of toppings. So cheap to make.

I went off the pill 2 years ago and since then i have had hardly any periods and rn i havent had one since january (currently late august 2024) Iv been diagnosed with pcos, high cortisol, high cholesterol. I dont have any strange symptoms from day to day but theres no sign of change for my period to come. Iv tried flaxseed for a while and it only caused a little spotting but nothing else. I currently take vitamin d, magnesium and my diet is pretty good, im 5"2 and 74kg 🫠 so im technically over weight but not big so yeah idk what else to do at this point. I see a gyno but she just wants to put me on a pill, i dnt want artificial hormones😑 what do u think i could try? Just curious on ur opinion, i plan on seeing a naturopath soon too
