If you want to determine how much material you need to fill the mold, you should go by volume, not weight. So I'd maybe take a measuring cup and weigh how much powder fits in 250ml, or mix it in the cup, so you can tell when you have the same volume of epoxy as water. Hope this helps for a next project! Although it seems that you figured something out that works for you. Nice projects! ❤

My stem to my mushroom keeps leaning over and the top of the mushroom doesn’t keep its shape any tips

Try making both the stem and top thicker. If the clay is too thin sometimes it doesn’t hold its shape.

WOW As i was having my morningish coffee I found this video. I am always looking at planters with a face outline/pic I never buy them because for the sizes they are out of my budget BUT after seeing a few of your videos I am ready to try to make my own. Good thing I have some think it is das air dry clay ( not sure of the spelling ) So thank you so very much for giving this 70 year old woman some fab ideas for all the saved planters I have lying around. One question though, can clay be used on plastic containers or only glass?
@IvettDIY
@IvettDIY 20 күн бұрын
@@karaboo6547 yes you can use it on plastic containers 😊

Hi, I’ve done a few paint by numbers and I love them. I have a few questions about this kit. 1) did you use all of the brushes or did you stick with only 1-2 of them? 2) did you find any paint colours that were either too sheer to cover the edges and numbers or any that were inconsistent texture? And last question is more about the set up. What do you use to film your overhead angle? I use my iPad on the table at an angle so you can see the time lapse to a degree but I find that it and the lighting can be challenging, although I am primarily only recording for Facebook friends and family.
@IvettDIY
@IvettDIY 24 күн бұрын
I only ended up using two brushes. I did find that the very light colors were sheer. Like the different whites and a super baby blue. I just went over the number with the paint a few times in those cases and they ended up being completely covered. The texture for all of the paint colors was the same and overall the paint was a good texture (didn’t feel cheap to me). The way I film is by strapping a tripod to a very tall shelf. So my camera hangs over my desk and then when I edit I flip the angle 180 to make it right side up. I hope that made sense.

I was just wondering if you need to wear a mask if you're using pre mixed uv resin? Ive never used resin before because of the mixing and caution but i recently bought some uv resin to apply to painted air dry clay projects for a shiny but not sticky finish
@IvettDIY
@IvettDIY Ай бұрын
I think it depends on brand of uv resin. But for the most part I would say yes just to be safe. They sell decently priced resin masks on amazon 💖

Super adorable 🥰 ☃️ I bet he is a lil built in air freshener too with that cinnamon on him, which was brilliant! Is it possible to sand this before painting or will I just have newspaper shreds everywhere? Maybe if I used a primer first like modge podge or gesso? 🤔 Any help would be appreciated. Great job and Happy New Year 🎊😊
@IvettDIY
@IvettDIY Ай бұрын
omgsh yes he smells so good with the cinnamon!! What I've noticed when I've done these types of paper mache projects is that the smaller the pieces of paper you work with, the smoother it is. Because if I use larger pieces of paper it does cover space faster but I do end up with more paper folds on the project. What also helps is really saturating the paper in the glue mixer because it really helps the paper mold itself into the shape you need without so many paper bumps. You could try sanding it but just add an extra layer of paper just to make sure the project is still thick. The paint with the baking soda also really helps hide any paper bumps on the project 😊💖

If your project cannot tolerate shrinkage, consider 2-part epoxy sculpting clay. Strong as a rock, no oven, no fridge. Great stuff.
