The imperial river behind my home connects to the Gulf of Mexico. If someday it connects to the Gulf of America great and I do like that name we can agree on that. That gas engine sips fuel, and can go longer distances, just bring a 1gal gas tank for a big day or weekend out on the water. Battery power has its place, but it will never go as far as a small gas engine, along with a huge investment in lithium batteries trying to have enough battery storage. Look-on the Newport Vessel, Motor Range Estimator, @7mph, its only 0.1 hrs at Full throttle, and only 0.7 mile range, for the NT300, Totally Unacceptable, WTF. Like many electric options, range is poor, especially if being used under full load. Gas for the primary engine, and electric for the bow mount setup, while at the hotspot.

BOTE makes some great looking products but I will never buy one of their inflatables after having slow leak issues with their inflatable fishing kayak with the pedal drive. On top of the leak issues the pedal drive is awful and they have continued to lower their prices for it so you know it's not doing well.

My friend took his NS130 inflatable skiff through oyster beds. After several trips, it developed two tiny holes. He was able to make it back home 7 hours later, but it shows that damage can happen. If you're going to be navigating around oysters, sharp rocks, and other hazards, consider getting something with a heavy-duty rubberized bottom like the TBnation Lite Air or the KBOAT heavy-duty series. Or, you could glue some rubber to the bottom of your boat for extra protection. I plan on doing that to my 16' Fish Skiff.

@@AliexFolgueira I find inflatables intriguing but they won't work for me. I've had to scoot through some very shallow spots depending on the tides to get where I like to fish. Rotomolded is the best for me until inflatables are bulletproof

Fastcat12 can only go 10 to 13 mph with the 5hp, very stable No need for trailer, fs16 very stable can take a 9.9hp with a bed extender no need for trailer but that motor is heavy. The fs14 haven't use it but you do need a trailer, it would be the most stable of the 3, can take 4 people and a 20 hp to go offshore solo I think the fs16 would be better

I have personal beef with it for example, I'm Cuban and we share the gulf waters IT ISN'T MEXICO's alone !!!!!. I would have call it the Gulf of North America but too long Gulf Of America is perfect.

The majority of shoreline is part of The United States of America therefore the gulf of America makes a lot more sense. When it was named the Gulf of Mexico Texas wasn't part of the US. We don't call Russia the USSR do we?

@@CrazyCranker what happened to yours, I had one issue yesterday, the motor rev and I almost went flying and the grab bar holder thingie broke, I think they should add d rings to the deck to hold the grab bar down like they did for the cooler rack, but I personally won't be using the grab bar is on the way, I rather just use the strap

@@AliexFolgueira Had a HD Aero, never used it, stored indoors, about 2yrs old, sold it. The new owner used it one time and the seams blew out. It was only inflated per the instructions about 4 times in it's lifetime :( After the warranty period, forget about it, BOTE won't help, no repairs, nothing. They will give you a discount on a new one and that's it. For Inflatables, my go to are Sea Eagle and Achilles boats.

Haha. Gulf of America fishing will be much better when the florida snow storm blizzard stops! BOTE Rover Aero is pretty cool rig. I love the Air Skiff best of all inflatables just because I can abuse it and leave inflated without concern of seam blow out. I like that the Bote Rover has a self bailing hull design like Solo Skiff.

I woke up this morning at 5 am, drove down 2 hours into the Florida Keys, unboxed and setup this Bote Rover Aero then went fishing, drove 2 hours back up, then I edited this video and finished it at 10 PM lol 😂 I'm beat.

@AliexFolgueira I received a concerning reply from Bixpy but no remedy for the issue other than take it outside, don't mess with it, and send the motor back to for a possible fix at best (they actually use the word at best) for 120.00 bucks! I used the unit no more 30 times in freshwater! I would hope they would just replace it because I'm a fan of the portability.

It seems like it rides a lot smoother with 2 on board. Of course having the weight up front is why. Maybe a longer tiller extension and longer safety lanyard will let you sit on the front bench when you’re solo. Hoping to see it fully rigged for fishing.

I would love for you to check out the Hammerhead Kayak Whale Shark. It is one of the more affordable pedal drive kayaks. Especially for a 13 footer.

The Tuffy looks amazing and rides nicely, but I think the Mantus is more fishable. I don't know, maybe it's recency bias. I need to get back on the Tuffy and remember how it feels, then compare.

I think they both look great. I know some people dont like the look of the mantus but I like its industrial look. It may ultimately come down to availability where I am. Tuffy vs Whaly vs Mantus would be an awesome video. Thanks for your reply!
