Is this technique also used for baby snails? Because I think some might be stock with the leaves and removed without even knowing. How do you prevent this from happening?

I tried the soilless with dried leaves in a wooden hutch box lined with a black polythene all around the sides and the top of the pen but it has being quite difficult controlling the moisture and stabilizing the humidity in the pen as the snails are always trying to hibernate and they don't eat much neither do they lay eggs too. The job of cleaning the pen of their feaces everyday is quite tedious. Please how do you maintain the moisture in this harmattan?

It should not be more than 3ft high. You can use either sand or leaves. As for me, I don't use sand in my snail farm. I use only dry leaves. Watch my video on soilless snail farming.

For how long depends on the population of your stock . When you noticed the leaves are becoming more messy, you change it.I do change my own every 3o days. It's not as tedious as using sand. You can use a plastic container with holes at the bottom to drain off excess water. You will also need to have one or two holes on the cover form egg to breathe but not too many holes to avoid dehydration. The incubator must be moist at all time till all the eggs hatchling.
