Hey Shreddawg! It is great to see you on here again. I am going to have to agree with your opinion on this video. The entire "Epic Narratives" album is amazing, and the genre is as usual, Band Maid. You probably heard that Kanami finally has a signature model PRS, it happened just a little after she got her Private Stock model that she used in this video. There is a video of her describing her signature model on the PRS Guitars channel on KZbin, as well as on the PRS Guitars Japan. They made an announcement that they will be releasing a new EP in mid 2025, but I have heard nothing about a world tour yet, but I'm hopeful. Please take care and I hope you have a wonderful week.

Ok ... that clean shaven face is gonna take some getting used to :p . Word on the street is that Dany from The Warning gave Saiki a few tips for singing in English ... and if you listen I think it helped. I still have not spent a ton of time with the new album because ... life, but everything I have heard is great. I am looking forward to the first MAIDIT managed tour even if it is not in the USA just to see what they may do differently. M&G's make a comeback? I am hopeful :) . Great reaction ... welcome back! Didn't you get enough Boss coffee in Japan?

I finally purchased the album when I was in Japan! ...Its still wrapped in plastic XD Yeah im looking forward to the tour news for sure! Need my BAND-MAID fix! :) I drank more STRONG ZERO than BOSS LOL. Pretty much BOSS every morning and 4-8 STRONG ZERO's per day XD

Yeah I can see what you mean by Trident. Discovering new bands is one of my favorite things to do. Finding that rare gem or even diamond in the rough and sharing it with others is just the coolest thing!

Great comments... I feel really grateful for this. I love the music of this band, it's been cheering my days. Their music is so straight-hearted, so is the way of their functioning in Japan's music scene. They don't use gimmicks in promotion, they are just for music. That's the reason why they are so underestimated here in Japan. Also, that's the reason why their music can connect with the people like you!! Salute from Osaka

Hello! I was just in Osaka a couple of weeks ago! I just returned back to the US from Japan. I visit Japan every year! Osaka is a lovely place, everyone is very friendly and the food is amazing! I really did enjoy listening to this song. The vocals were incredible! The overall sound of the band is rather unique compared to a lot of music I discover. Listening to the song just makes me happy! I will need to listen to more of their music in the future. Discovering new bands and sharing them with others is something that I love to do. Thank you for watching the video and leaving a comment!

"Matchless Gum" - one of Band-Maid's God-tier mid-tempo masterpieces. Kanami shreds in the true sense of the word. Off the YOLO quadruple A-side (that's where you can also find "Unfair Game"). 🤘🤘💕💕

"Unfair Game" is on the YOLO single release, which I like to call the quadruple A-side release. Band-Maid have never heard of B-sides.

People need to know how great New Beginning is. It is the first release (second album) where their company allow them to rock out, rather than try to force them to be an idol band. And, wow! Do they rock! Everyone needs to buy this album - it starts with "Thrill" and ends with "Shake That!!" Nine tracks of progressive hard rock awesomeness.

Yo! Things are going well for the most part. Ive just been busy with work as we've had a lot of people on vacation and it has also been unseasonably busy... Typically work would slow down by September but not this year >.> Not to mention the stress/business required to plan/prepare for my next trip to Japan in about 2 weeks. I actually have not heard the new song yet, I havent had time with all the running around ive been doing on the weekends. Hmmm Upiko? Dont think ive heard of them.

I got a definite pop/punk vibe to start. I was not sure the vocalist could carry it off ... but there are bands I like, like Special Thanks with a female vocalist the just has a sweet pure voice, so it can work ... and so does this. Nice reaction :) .

The instrumentals certainly are great! As soon as the music started, I was hooked for sure! The vocals just did it for me though, definitely sealed the deal. Special Thanks is a pretty cool band too!

Thats awesome! I see all of his posts on IG, he seems like a really cool guy. Some day I want to meet him. Maybe Ill run into him at one of the shows I go to. I usually try to see 3 or 4 shows during my normal 3 week trips to Japan. Generally, I just find bands that I like and ask them to reserve a ticket for me :)

Last night in Portland was one of the best gigs I’ve been to in many years. Such a compact, intense, engaging and joyous show with so much feeling. I am so glad I found this band (finally!) last year. Thanks for this great video.

@@Shreddawg a friend in Japan said they are much more popular overseas than in Japan, which all of this touring is helping. To me, they capture so many elements of the underground and alternative bands I loved growing up, they’re just perfect. I have binge-watched SO MANY live clips and shows of theirs, I just can’t get enough. I wasn’t able to meet them, but I passed a Paint and Copter cd of choice cuts to a staff member to give to them. Dream In Color and Here the Rain sound like them a little bit. I hope you are able to post more clips because this first clip sounds pretty good.

@@davidtollefson8411 Yeah I wonder if they were popular in the past? I know they were on hiatus for a while but as soon as they resumed operations, they sold out their first show in less than a couple of hours. ...I think I remember reading that in an interview. Certainly they have a larger US fan base that I expected. Just watching the crowdfunding they did for their first US tour smash all expectations. I do have a few other songs recorded before the crowd got wild and started pushing etc. Ill try and upload them when I have the chance. Awesome you were able to pass them a CD, thats pretty cool!

Oh cool, you were at one of their shows - I envy you. 🙂 I had tickets for their gig in Berlin in March but couldn't go due to health problems, so I'm still a bit sad. But I hope they'll come back to Europe someday.
