But if the people scam you the hole day , this is, what you tell your friends after beeing back at home. I know 20 people who would like to go to Egypt, but they will never go after telling my stories. Sad but true. Also the tourist police tried to scam us at the pyramids. Shithole country.

@@josemaccena yep, who not. I’ve been to at least 35 countries on 4 continents, but Egypt was by far my worst nightmare holiday. I’ve planned 3 week with my ex girlfriend but we fled as soon there was a plane available ( on day 5). The sh*t started as soon we set foot in this shameless disgusting 3rd world hellhole with airport authorities who took our passport and demanded money. They shamelessly beg for sigarets and money….literally begging for everything they could put hand on. Than the struggle with taxi thieves was waiting for us. My experience was. Walking the streets = problem Asking the way = problem Going to toilet = problem Taxi = problem Police = problem Airport authorities = problem Restaurant = problem Pyramids = problem Ancient buildings = problem Minding your business = problem Taking a picture = problem Cafes = problem Hotel = problem Shopping = problem Just walking by a random shop = problem Buying a bottle of water = problem Kids are liars, pickpockets, beggars, touts and scammers Elderly are liars, pickpockets, scammers, beggars, touts and perverts Adults are liars, scammers, beggars, touts, thieves and perverts Females are liars, scammers, beggars, touts, pickpockets and wh&res Police are scammers, beggars, touts and thieves Airport authorities are thieves, harassers, scammers, beggars and touts Literally everywhere we went we were harassed and followed for at least a mile or so by totally strangers who were after us. My ex girlfriend was catcalled and harassed by hotel employees, restaurant workers and by random strangers in streets. I will never go back to this shameless uncivilized and uneducated disgusting medieval scavengers, Neanderthalers, savages and an!mals on two legs. I don’t recommend this miserable Egyptian hellhole to anyone, especially not to females. Iam right now spending my holiday also in North Africa, in Morocco….but oh boy what a deference this country is compared to that backward horrendous 3rd world Egyptian open sewer. From the moment I set foot in Egypt my view changed about Egyptians….i see them as an!mals. Even a stray dog has more value for me than an inhabitant of that disgusting country Egypt

I’m tired of westerners just stepping into other countries and acting surprised how/why it’s different. You are alone, in a foreign country, not only showing a stranger where you live but bringing them IN and you’re surprised you were taken advantage of? You’re lucky not more has happened to you. Mental note for people traveling to new countries- spend 10 hours researching the country (2 hrs a day for 5 days, it's easy)= KZbin, google, reddit, expat forums. You are in a country that exists via survival. Money equals survival. You are not in your home country. Take care❤

You should definitely not have done that. You are in the Middle East. In any country, you have to be careful, but in the Middle East, things can escalate due to religion. I live in Egypt and even if you're going into a hotel with an Egyptian, you must show a marriage certificate. Also, even if you're in a touristic city, be respectful of the culture, especially when dealing with Egyptians.
