I was taken aback at the news in the video that this green on green Z was passed over at auctions due to the color combo. Surely by now those individuals are kicking themselves. This car is superb in green.

I about fell out of my chair when I watched this video because I also owned a 69 Z28 in these exact colors! I had mine in the early 2000’s, didn’t own it very long because after buying it I decided I didn’t like the color combo and wanted to change it to a white interior but all my car buddies told me it was so unusual that it would be a crime to change the colors. The one I had had set in the back of a machine shop in SoCal for decades and was discovered by a local Camaro nut. Anyway don’t mean to ramble on but just thought it was a great video on such a rare car and the importance that was put on the color combination. Btw I do have pictures of the one I had.

I gave away a 1968 Camaro R/S. Blue with black vinal top and black vinal interior. It was a V8, power glide which is why I lost interest. I traded this car for a quarter panel restoration on a Buick convert able. I'm glad it went to a good kid because with my luck it was a 327 with 360 HP. This car would not start. After a battery and starter install, I think it had a cracked bell housing or torque convertor. To this day I kick myself for not restoring this car. I'm glad I have a Corvette C4 today to make compensation.

As a former owner of a 1967 Camaro RS, with a modified 327/4-spd, I can relate to the top speed he mentioned. I did 141 mph (1x). I really could have used 4-wheel disc brakes…

OK Lane, you had the Holeshot until that wheelie for the camera. 😂😂 I have no idea why this video popped up on my feed, but kind of cool to watch a weekend warrior family out enjoying dirt bikes and dirtbike racing. It’s what it’s all about. Now I know it’s easy for everybody to be a keyboard warrior, but I’m an old has-been that’s been there and done that. (so that means I know nothing more than anybody else). But I recommend you both find a local AA rider or ex AA (A/pro or whatever they call it in your area) who teaches classes and work on these few things. Correct body position, standing up with the correct body position and then obviously things like cornering front breaking and balance skills. Again I’m not throwing this out there as criticism just things I see that you both will benefit from. Or another alternative is, there’s a lot of good video online teaching these things. Watch them and try to mimic those techniques at a slow pace. Anyway keep it up and thanks for the video.

Thanks Rob. Clint did the wheelie. The video is not so much to showcase prowess or abilities. The clips were just to give a flavor of what the events are like and how we do them together, but you will be glad to know that we discussed the "wheelie" and I gave Clint my solutions for the perfect start. A little later in the video there is a clip from the next event where he gets the perfect start and holeshot. It was clean and complete; no wheelie and nobody within 2 or more bike lengths. I am more stoked about his willingness to listen dn learn and try than the actual result, but in the past 4 races he is 3 for 4 on holeshots, with the wheelie start being the first and only one of the 4 that he didn't nail completely. It was a very close second. I'm 4 for 4 in the last 4 events and looking forward to another if I can put it all together again. I don't take it for granted.

All you had to do is truck it out, 12" disc on the front 11" drums on the back. It's an old school trick back in the day and work just as good. Plus you didn't have all the problems with parking brakes associated with rear disc brakes.

Makes me wonder if my 69 Nova is still on the road. I had to leave it in Minot, ND back in 84-85 because as a poor Airman I couldn't afford to keep fixing everything.

I own a 69 RS/SS 350. Installed is the heavy duty service unit rear end that was over the counter with 3.73 gears. Not as rare as a true JL8 car but I did put JL8 as part of my license plate.

Too bad he didn’t order the RS option. My 68 Z/28 I purchased in ‘74 was the same color and a friend of mine owns it today. But I still own my 70 Z/28 that I bought off the original owner back in 1981.

I'm doing the same thing with the original owners of a real 1973 Pro Stock Vega Body in White I bought 5 years ago. I took it back to Illinois and met with the first 4 owners. Have lots of pictures and documentation on the car. Was a great trip and I would love to do it again when it's finished. But take it to the track it raced at the most. Union Grove Wisconsin
