I just picked one of these up over the weekend. I love the rifle just not the trigger. Are there any companies that you know of that make a trigger for it?

As a dedicated woodlands landlubber I could see myself dressing up like a pirate with one of these. They have that blunderbuss look. I can just picture a subsonic 45-70 version! Here's hoping that suppressors are "legalized", or rather restored in rights, really soon. I can't bring myself to engage in voluntary taxation.

5:00. Getting that little piece installed was the most frustrating thing i've ever done. SO TIGHT. First and last time i ever mess with one of my guns, anything else can go straight to the gunsmith to do it.

Wonder how changing the muzzle geometry could direct more of the sound away from the shooter to make it even more pleasant. I hope the NFA goes away so builds like these become the norm for ranch/truck/brush guns.

What do you think the optimum barrel length is for a 45-70 in order to get full use of the powder? I'm skeptical about the 16 or 18 inch barrels being long enough.

I got the install completed but the inner mag tube is much tighter than it should be. Assuming the outer tube got bent a little in the process. Any ideas on how to fix this?

I have a new Ruger made SBL in .44 magnum, and I'm taking delivery of a new 45-70 Trapper this week. The first "Remlins" did have some problems. However, the later "Remlins" were CNC machined, and are quite a bit better. The stocks fit better as well.

The wood to metal fit on both is kinda poor. I have a 1949 Winchester 94... and the fit is literally perfect. And that's wood a metal that's 75 years old. I still look at it and wonder how they did it.

I glass bed factory stocks. It has done well for my standards and saved me $ so I can buy powder and projectiles. My Savage 93v in 17 HMR came with a beer can plastic stock, glass bedded it. Bought a factory Ruger Precision Rimfire that I did NOT glass bed. I can't see a difference. Glass bedding costs me about $4 per rifle. A $600+ chassis can pay for a lot of components. And that's just for 1 rifle. Until a chassis can improve my shots by at least 60%, guaranteed, I'll spend my money on other things. Don't get me wrong, chassis' look way better than my factory stocks, so I lose on that every time. :D
