Yes, I strongly agree with you that the black face should make a come back again, after all, this traditional colour was made in days of old by using a combination of goose fat and soot in the far-origins of Border Morris dancing. Bring it back please...time to listen to your audience 'Morris Ring' powers-that-be! Its very true that Alvechurch Morris men really embodied the original style & look of the Border Morris style. Seen them many times over the years.

Its a traditional dance called The Evesham which has been adapted by Alvechurch Morris. The music is Brighton Camp. This includes the song at the beginning.

they tend to let them off one by one and they move in the direction and speed of the wind, i too thought these were UFO's until i let a few of witha friend

I live in Droitwich too and have seen these a couple of times. They are called fire lanterns. See them on ebay for sale. They are basically a huge strong balloon that you put a lighted wick in. They let them off at music festivals and outside weddings and parties.
