Going tmrw. Have a rental wrangler 4xe. Do you recommend 4H auto, 4H part time or 4L for the sand tracks from the main road to long dong?

Sorry I had missed this. You could probably make it out in 2 wheel drive. Once you get out towards long dong you will want to be in 4H

Awesome video! I am planning a trip to this area soon, I had long dong silver on my list to visit for astrophotography also but saw that there were posts saying "route closed" leading up to it. Was it ok to drive close to the spire?
@PixeloProGear Жыл бұрын
The first time I visited you could get to within about a 1/2 to 1/4 mile of the spire by vehicle before it was closed to vehicles. The second time there were no signs so so was able to get there. So it may just depend on if they updated the signs. It is not very far off the road the. Maybe only about a mile. The area is primarily used for ATV’s and such. There are actually two spires out there. The spiked one is not the one I had in the Milky Way shots. The second spires is more out in the open and less in the canyons so it made for a cool night shot. Best of luck on the trip !

Can we get to these 3 places without having to drive a 4x4? Factory butte is on my list.
@PixeloProGear Жыл бұрын
Factory Butte you can get to without a 4x4 no problem. The spire is only about a mile off the road and pretty close to factory butte. So technically, you could park by the road and do the hike. Just go early or late with the summer heat. Bentonite hills has a water crossing and some rugged terrain. So I would suggest some 4x4 needed on that one.

This is probably a dumb question, but are you able to lift the Diamondback cover with the rooftop tent installed? Do you just crawl into your bed to grab the stuff in the back?
@PixeloProGear2 жыл бұрын
The Gladiator has a pretty short bed. So I put anything I need in bins and just reach into the bed of the truck. They make slide out panels but I didn’t think it was worth it. The lower profiles helps me get the dogs in and out. I just lower the tailgate. They hop on that and then hop into the side window of the tent. I wish there was a way to keep the low profile and also open the top, but not really an option. In my garage I have a hoist install that I bought on Amazon, during the week I take the tent off, that way I still have the flexibility of the diamondback cover.

Personally, I have my part107, but no, you do not need it to use the app. Generally the part107 comes into effect at any time you are not flying for your own enjoyment. Any commercial or business use, even if no money is exchanged, requires a part107

Hey! This drone never ceases to freak me out and amaze me at the same time. And I'm not just talking about the tracking and OA. The image quality is up there too and in some cases even better looking than DJI. You mentioned that was BLM. Where and what BLM office and State? I'm in Oregon am always looking for great public and free to fly locations unlike National Parks. Thanks and I'm looking forward to your Mavic 3 review.
@PixeloProGear3 жыл бұрын
Yea this is in Utah BLM around the Wasatch Mountains. I agree. I saw way too many people in Zion National Park trying to fly drones down the narrows. The drone is a beast ! Can’t wait to get the Mavic 3 active track 5.0 update to test the comparison

Great video! So can you set the height fixed so it stays above the the trees all the time while tracking? Or even at a higher distance tracking to see more of the surroundings....
@PixeloProGear3 жыл бұрын
Yes you can. That type of tracking is way more effective with the beacon though. With the cell phone app you wouldn’t be able to get significant altitude or distance. In both the app and with the beacon though you can make it a set distance and set elevation. If you want the drone to move around less, there is also a fixed tracking mode where it stays at one angle the whole time…almost like spotlight mode with the DJI’s

Ive been on the fence about a Skydio. I have an Autel Evo2 and it's a great drone, but it's tracking feature can't come close to what the Skydio can do. The Skydio feels so nimble and to be able to use it with the beacon while driving would be awesome.
@PixeloProGear3 жыл бұрын
I agree. The Aurelia have great cinematic ability and range. Same for DJI. I feel you will give up a bit of range with the Skydio (even with the controller package)…mainly just when trying to get really far away shots. However, if you were to just buy the Skydio base package, with the beacon. You will get better follow/autonomous tracking range and better obstacle avoidance than any Autel or DJI drone. I always get torn because of the picture quality/range on DJI & Autel. Skydio will still give you 4k/60👍

I’m always torn because I do feel the Mavics have a bit better image and color science. However, the Skydio’s utility for both cinematic footage and high speed tracking is just amazing. Plus their 4K quality is still excellent, I’ve used the Skydio for a few wedding shoots and then turned around the next week to use it for property mapping. Tough choice between the two companies.

I had a really cool theory so basically what it is is on a world map I put a X on the spot where the monolith in Utah was found and a X where the Romanian one was found. I noticed that there on a straight line across the world then I measured who far away they were from each other starting for Utah to Romania then I keep that measurement and changed the starting point to Romania and used the measurement and it ended in the middle of the Pacific Ocean next to Japan so I think that’s where the next one might be. sorry if it’s confusing, I also think this is just some art work by some really weird artist
@PixeloProGear4 жыл бұрын
