When i was getting my locs, other people's loc count is how i was able to know what decide the sizing i wanted. What i really wanted to know was loc count versus retie time and length of time between reties. I wanted smallest microlocs i could do myself without frustration. For me, loc count was the best way to get that info. Exact number is not super important, just wanted an estimation of how much time and effort it would take to maintain my hair.

I love your perspective as a new mom. I believe that a woman doesn’t have to be a mother to be be fulfilled, it’s a beautiful thing but there’s nothing wrong with also not choosing to be a mom. I am in my 20s and also hold on to not wanting kids, but my partner makes me feel like I may change my mind, but for now I’m not really interested in being a mother. I like knowing I can return them to their parents 😅 So happy for you though, and your insight and thoughts on the matter is very rare and I feel like more people need to say it for women to hear.

Beautiful locs! @ 19:08 , was it your preference to have them installed with different sizes? I also got microlocs 7 months ago, I wanted the same size all over (more or less), but I’ve noticed that at the crown of my head my locs are a little big bigger. Which bothers me a little but I can’t correct it now.
@locsandthecity2 ай бұрын
I actually had no idea that they came in different sizes until my loctician educated me and said that she would be installing that way because of how my hair density is throughout my head.

The color looks very orange brown I’m not sure if you’re using natural lighting or if your camera has some settings that make the color look like this
@locsandthecity2 ай бұрын
It honestly looks different in different lights and even between different cameras. The color is labeled "sunkissed brown", but it is closer to a warm auburn to me and sometimes appears oranger in the summer. I don't mind it.

When did you start washing your hair once a week, how long were you locked
@locsandthecity3 ай бұрын
I think I consistently got into the habit around sometime last year. The only times that I switched up was when I traveled (washed my hair more at the beach) or if I got too busy, but it's rare.

Beautiful!! ❤❤❤❤ But I recently saw a video on the Mielle brand oils and how it is making people's hair fall out. You might want to do your research.😊
@locsandthecity3 ай бұрын
Thank you! I looked into this when I first started seeing the videos come out. I did some research and found that most the claims didn't seem to have much solid proof. One big thing that I came across is that Mielle hasn't significantly changed it's formula from the original after being acquired and I've bought multiple bottles over the last couple of years. Everyone should definitely do their research though!

I came across your bridal hairstyle on Pinterest and it's really inspiring me for my wedding hair! I do have a quick question though, were the faux micro locs crochet locs? Did they have a loop on the end? The ones in your video look like a higher quality than the ones that I've been seeing so I thought to ask! Your locs are gorgeous by the way! :)
@locsandthecity3 ай бұрын
They did not have a loop at the end. They were loose single locs. Hope that this helps!

You cant “lighten” dark hair without bleach. It’s in the hair color formulation Sis . As a cosmetologist , I always chuckle when people say that. There’s only no bleach if you are darkening a hair color.
@locsandthecity3 ай бұрын
Thanks for your input , but for clarity, I always specifically say that I don't bleach my hair with other products prior to using the box dye mentioned in this video because a lot of people think that I do and it can get confusing for those that aren't cosmetologist. I've also personally seen others who do bleach before using a lighter dye, but I've never said that there aren't lightning agents in boxed dye. I just try to be as clear as possible with what I actually use on my hair to get this color, which is only what comes in the box, no processing prior.

I left a Dm about postpartum care for your locs (continue to take your prenatals I found out when you stop it that’s when our hair roots gets weak and possibly break!!) Another share is about rosemary oil and if you have done some research on it since pregnancy just an FYI- like you said different stokes for different folks!! Sending only good vibes and positive energy!!!
