I did quite a few of those monitors. At the time you could buy prepackaged kits, probably down to individual parts now. Also, at the time Taiwanese caps were better, matters less today, but worth working at when looking for blown caps on older electronics.

@@RobBickel got an Acer monitor, w vga, hdmi, & DVI ports. Amazon sells cap kits but it's more like a mixed bag of various rated caps. I have never done a recap before, so it would be a new experience. I would prefer to replace the caps with the same ratings. The monitor does work, but the colors look faded or paled, not as brilliant or dazzling as when it was new. Plus a few vertical lines. Thanks & if you have other suggestions, please reply. The monitor isn't opened yet, as I have been watching vids on do's & don'ts for such an endeavor.

What type of capacitors do I need replace them for AL 1716 b? anyone. I live in remote Community where you have to do everything yourself including Electronics. No shops or no Computer repairs to go. How much are they?

It all looks straight forward to me, now I have to find the correct replacement drive. I recently received the imminent failure warning and although all of the checks have come back clean I will purchase a new replacement hard drive as a back up. good quick video.

The processor board is likely shot. Try reseating all the connectors on it. You might be able to buy a new one if you search online for a new board.

Wonder if a PNY 240GB CS1111 internal 2.5 inch SATA III will work in this laptop. Don't need more storage, but faster boot on the laptop and programs.
