Beccy, you really have got this correct. As a Vietnam Veteran I found I could relate so easily. My wife just said "oh your home are you, well I'm going to a party, you can please yourself. We divorced soon after. My sister told me I left part of me over there and my mother told me she prayed for me every night. I later found out I was so dead inside and couldn't even cry. I know this is a late comment, but I had to add it

I dont know what to say. I have listened to this more times than I could tell you but I still can't nail my reaction to it. One time I will cry. The next I will smile and think damn that's Beccy listen to the voice, honesty and that song is going to ensure so many other people enjoy the musical journey of this artist. Rare talent. Then the next I will feel proud acjse shes standing. But then sometimes I feel anger when i hear the line faded star. This world can be so cruel. As much as the song devastates me, still I love it. I just wish it was a work of fiction, not reflections. If I am being 100% honest, I didnt overly like the duets. Cause when I came to a concert I wanted to hear rhe star I paid money to see, and for me, that was always Beccy. Her sound, her way of performing was the person that attracted me to concerts. The woman that I had been listening to since my late teens . Who's posters are on our loungeroom walls. That person will always be THE STAR to me... no matter if she forgets a couple of lines.
