Removal of the front panel isn't entirely necessary. And, "CORECT" should be "CORRECT" Maybe that's the Canadian spelling? 😆 But, the Chinese factory built being backwards tells me, "You work hard! You work fast!" Would not be surprising, interestingly. Keep an eye out for my upcoming video on this. Teehee!
@SquadCollector21 сағат бұрын
I corrected my "corect" hahaha. Auto correct didn't save me on that one. I found taking the front panel off helped give me more slack without having to pull on wires . We all know how delicate Haslab's solder joints are hahaha.

Knew this one was just a matter of time.... hehe. I did this a few weeks back, and i'm glad I did every time I turn it on. As for 'the videos are too long'... I always wonder why they can't just scroll ahead. Some of us like to hear the occasional tip, or other detail you throw out while powering through 8 screws in a row... those who don't can just... tap a button and scoot forward easily enough. People used to understand that there are other people watching, and maybe choice is a good thing. Go figure.

I just replaced the banjo. It comes out very easily and surprisingly it's made after metal, so you can't cut into it to keep the hose intact. But the hose was easy to remove. It's pointed on the inside, so i shaved off the excess and pulled it right out. You do have to cut away some plastic , so the banjo lays flush. And tou have to widen the screw hole a bit to accept the silver flat head screw that comes with the banjo. It's screws in really tight and looks great.

Do you think there’s any way to squeeze a larger speaker in there? Would love to get this thing a bit louder. Doesn’t look like there’s much room though.
@SquadCollector3 күн бұрын
It's strange how some traps seem very loud and others softer. I find if you place it on a hard surface allowing the sound to "bounce" it's much louder. I'm going to take some measurements and do some research on louder speakers.... The speaker currently in it is 25W (Which is no slouch) I think we are restricted by the amp built into the main board on the trap.

@@SquadCollectorI'm pretty sure if you look closely on the speaker you'll find a full stop between the 2 and 5, but it's quite small - that's if it's the same speaker they used in the wand, those are 2.5w.

I love the idea on your custom doors.. like electromagnets... But i'm gonna go with the accurate ones. You should get that design on the top of the smoke kit... it'd look amazing. Oh, and an idea for an easy mod to print and sell... A thin, but solid half cylinder, about an inch and a half, that snaps onto the underside of the handle... so it acts as a safety for the hidden button! When you wanna press it, you just slide the safety down the handle.
@SquadCollector3 күн бұрын

If you hold the button it puts the trap into “spooky mode” which basically just plays random ghostly sounds, Morse code, and random sequences. The trap doors do not work in this mode, the only way to turn it off is just to turn the trap off and back on

Again, a simple little mod that makes things feel a little more 'real'...costs nothing, but those in the know will notice it right off, and nod approvingly. And it just feels good to know it's 'right', even if it's only you who does. Not to mention you get to feel a little like Egon... tinkering away at the equipment in the corner somewhere... hehe! That mint green was an interesting (and inaccurate) choice by Hasbro, though... Black is the accurate color. A backwards cover is one thing, but some of their choices are baffling. I wonder sometimes if they do these little, but obvious, variations from the real thing so they can get around a patent, or copyright thing... or if they just want to be able to pick out their products in social media pictures quickly and reliably. There must be a reason... they seem to do it often. Speaking of realism... Just saw the trap door mod in your store... will be grabbing that up soon! Hope there's gonna be a video on 'em.

@jamesoblivion14 күн бұрын
Great work! I did exactly the same as you did. I always have a few resistors on hand, but didn't feel like trimming the clip and all that at first, so I painted the ends of the insert gloss black and drilled the prong holes. It honestly looked much better than I expected. Still, nothing beats the real thing, so I have since swapped it for a real one. I trimmed only a tiny bit off the clip, so it would stand out further than the stock resistor. Didn't want it sinking all the way into the recess, like the plastic one did.

Someone needs to print rub on transfers of all the lettering on those resistors... the pack ones, too. I imagine they'd add a ton of subtle realism to the fake ones. They're nearly perfect already.
