This was a great beginners kit for a great price. kzbin.infoUgkxKRURvLsu9Vvyw7gIuvt8FsApoQNCdz-1 Its given us a huge variety to test out and see what works well and what we like to use. Majority of the flies have stayed together well, but some of the rainbow warriors did unravel after catching a few blue gill. All in all, this was a great kit and are so happy with the purchase and value for money.

We find that tying on a small hook sizes 10-12 (barbless) onto either braid (you can remove the fly line and tie the braid straight onto the backing if there is a strong current in the river and you want to fish on the bottom) or just onto the tippet for other waters with a tiny bit of (bread) kneaded into a paste using the water in the river or lake - just enough to cover the tip of the hook - is unbeatable. As carp are an exotic invader species we target them regularly and remove all of them from the waters so that the native fishes can recover. An original idea but I will carry on using the bread.

Nice, good tip. I will apply your technic for my next carp's fly. What is the brown floating foam you are using?

As my granny would say that is slick as duck butter. I would wager that those brown ones would be great for the hatchery released trout as they resemble the food pellets they ate ate the hatchery.

Try using egg yarn for your bread fly and the corn fly basically is pop foam in other words a balanced bait that moves when carp swim past it but it's good to see angler's thinking out of the box

Holy crap mate! You're a smart and fantastic lure maker! Let me ask you this my friend: What did you use to make the corn (Beside the hook, of course). And what materials you used to make the bread, both the floater one and sinker? Thanks for any suggestions.

Corn fly / is from a small sheet of foam you can buy at a craft store they make them in multiple colors . and weight it with a piece of lead ( finish nail) cut it to Length .. ok didn't know if you had gotten a answer yet ....hope this helps . have fun !

When I sight fish for Carp on fly most of the time I am hooking them in shallow water. The files use ride hook up and I use drag and drop to put it on their dinner plate, then I give the file just a little motion and wait for the take. Are you actually fishing this like you would a plastic worm for Bass (Carolina rig)? I ask because I have never caught carp on fly when giving the fly a ton of action. Looks more like a bass fly to me.
