I was a center on and off for 10 years. His explanation on gun snapping is correct for the most part. However, I always snapped or flicked my wrist when releasing the ball and 99 out of 100 were right in the QBs hands at chest level. The reason this worked for me so well is because my butt was much lower to the ground than most other centers, which gave me a more explosive movement after the snap. Being 6'3" as a center, playing against smaller, explosive nose tackles, I had to find ways to create more leverage.

If "making a guy miss" is a key part of your offensive philosophy you are not going to be calling plays for long.

How do you adjust vs a press 2 look where corners and OLBs are re-routing?
@coachcalloway Жыл бұрын
Thanks for the question coach. Several considerations. In any play call a lot depends on the front they show. We might decide to audible to a run if we have the advantage in the box. - It is hard for a defender to Re-Route the inside slot receiver because of alignment off the ball. If defender is trying to play tight to re-route it will give your WR the advantage on the corner route. - It also provides the outside WR the opportunity to create traffic dragging bodies inside again allowing the inside WR the advantage on the corner route. - If they are showing press on all 4 WR then they have to make a decision on 4-1-2 safeties or 4-1-1 safety. 4-1-2 gives you a run advantage. - If they stay in a 4-1-2 and the hole defender stays in the hole Turing the corner route over to the safety then you can tag the outside receivers with a Post making the safety decide to cover Post or Corner. Hope this helps. Go out to our website at CallowayFootball.com and get into the complete training center.

Now how yall feel about the speedflex presicion diamond?
@sreekarnagul74792 жыл бұрын
its a good helmet and obviously its customized, but every single football player in the world has the ability to wear a vicis helmet while the speedflex precision diamond is only available to pros and to some college players.
@tclott31610 ай бұрын
@@sreekarnagul7479unfortunately no, not everyone has the ability to wear a 900+ dollar helmet. That’s the sole reason the Flex DOMINATES
@sreekarnagul747910 ай бұрын
@@tclott316 I was referring to the speedflex precision diamond, which still today is a customizable helmet only available to the pros and college players, not to your everyday football player. however, I do agree that a speedflex is cheaper which is why it dominates, but would you rather pay 400 more dollars or have 7-8x the chance of getting repeated concussions to CTE?
@tclott31610 ай бұрын
@@sreekarnagul7479 I get what you’re saying. And it’s valid. But fact of the matter is, if I were the president of a youth football club or athletic director of a school smaller than 6A. I’m choosing the Speedflex, 11 out of 10 times. Can buy 30 speedflexs for around 280-300 a piece. Or buy 30 Zero1s for around 750 a piece.

football is pretty evil. I used to play and love it my whole life. Then i saw my childhood football hero retired and brain damaged for life and I've never watched it again. I don't know how anyone can separate themselves enough from knowing these guys are possibly destroying their brains long enough to actually enjoy the game as entertainment. It's just weird to me that people can do that. Not a moral judgement I'm saying the sounds of the hits are actually nauseating to me now. I never thought I'd stop watching football but yea it's pretty much disgusting to me. I guess we should have all known but it was a part of my family's tradition and you never thought twice about what it did to these guys brains. This helmet hopefully helps lower the trauma on the brain but I don't think it matters much what you wear when you're colliding into another person as hard as you can head first.

I love these passing concept videos! Very informative. My question: What is the difference between a swing route by the F and a wheel route? Thanks
@callowayfootballnetwork41356 жыл бұрын
Nelson W Thanks for the question. A swing route is typically when the RB (F) flairs out of the backfield towards the boundary. A wheel route is when the route starts to the flats then goes vertical down the field. Go to our website for more detailed info. I've been a youth football coach for 7 years. After switching to the Calloway football system, I can say it not only works, it keeps the kids engaged and having fun, and it produces winning football. We accomplish more in one practice than most teams do in a week of practices. Quake, out of the ACE formation, is simple, yet so dynamic its sure to gain yards both in short yardage and big chunks!
