I used to be able to canter but on day when I was jumping my fell off for my first time while cantering after canter and almost hit my head on the gate, it was scary and I ended up breaking my elbow. Now whenever I canter I’m scared, to the point where I don’t even wanna go over to my lessons. 🫤

Right at 32 and 34 minutes, you weren't sure what was bothering her. It's the dog. No offense, you'll have to watch and see what you think. 😉

I will run a horse into a gallop and slow down into the canter without using canter aids. It passes up transitions which is the transition I struggle with in my seat position

I’m not afraid of a horse bucking or spooking, I love hot horses. I get afraid to canter because I loose my seat balance between the trot and the canter. I slide around in the saddle. Equals falling off and being dead without being able to be a leader to my horse. Especially a horse that is afraid is relying on you to lead them.

No the issue is not more engagement travers is not a collecting lateral, the problem is flexibility, travers is a suppling lateral that requires far more flexibility through the whole horse, shoulder in is only 3 tracks minimal bend, minimal flexion, travers is 4 tracks created by huge amount of bend and counter intuitive flexion. Shoulder in lightens the forehand placing the inside hind under the belly creating engagement and collection.

Don't know how I stumbled across this. Looking up stuff about horses. Becky was a friend of mine in High school and I remember when she was showing me around her house, the first time I was there, she showed me a model of a horse she had on her dresser. Not sure why that stuck with me. Mind you that was 50 years ago. She really did love Horses! -- my God where has the time gone----

Can you re-shoot that but doing the transition in the frame where we can see it happen? You’re breaking it down well, but I’m not getting a visual of it happening as you’re up at the camera when you transition.

I need advice on teaching my horse how to rein. Nothing fancy. He is saddle broke and we have that liberty like connection whenever we’re together but it’s time to get on him and out of the round pen. Should I go with a hackamore since he is so responsive to my body language or a snaffle? Split reins or single?

In Deutschland sieht man häufig, wie vor der Rampe (die meisten Pferdehänger hier haben eine), regelrecht "Anlauf" genommen wird. Also ob Pferde Räder hätten 🤪.

This is exactly what I need to do. I restarted my horse and he just hasn't figured out how to balance someone yet and he's so soft that any movement I make he's taking that as stop so I definitely need to figure out how to teach him that I'm going to move in the saddle and that's okay and you need to keep going.
@laurenw1168

So unfortunately we never make it more than a couple steps because as I move with him he wants to stop because he feels off balance. This is a 16 year old horse that I restarted completely because in the past he's been ambushed by people asking him to move and his general response was to take off bucking. Fortunately I don't see that anxiety in him anymore since we restarted and he has a great foundation now, but he's not used to balancing people anymore

I think u loosened a bunch of junk inside her glottal pouches that are intended to facilitate movement of fluids ear to mouth and out. Her ears got really wonky and pleasantly lop-earred.

Restarting my ten yr old one eyed rescue pony and need him ready by fair July 31st for walk trot. And I spent 2 weeks desensitizing him and standing quietly while I get on but he won't walk forward shakes his head stomps his feet and can only back him and circle him. Doesn't neck rein and tosses his head if I try to get him to bend his nose to my foot so doesn't respond to reins
