In Anne Serling’s book, there’s a photo of Rod, Anne and her sister Jodi, visiting the Twilight Zone set at MGM. I highly recommend the book.

What Luck said about the role of the character of Robert McCall being what he thought the role of a Christian should be in society spoke to me personally and maybe explains why I loved this show soooo much.

The Night Gallery paintings are absolutely fantastic! They are just one aspect of the show that made it much better than another similar show, Ghost Story, AKA Circle of Fear. Also, I liked that no two stories of Night Gallery were the same length. An episode might have one story that's 30 minutes long, and another that's only 3 minutes. The longer stories did a great job of building spooky atmosphere, and the shorter stories were usually funny jokes. Ghost Story's episodes are 50 minutes each, and the stories really drag on.

I feel like Stephen King might've been inspired by the pilot episode of 'The Cemetery'' when writing for Creepshow. The Birthday Cake episode and Hold YourBreath seem to have a lot of Cemetery energy in them.

I saw this documentary on Epix in 2020 and I thought it was much, much better than either the 1976 or 2004 TV movies of the same name. Unlike the TV movies, the Helter Skelter documentary details everything about Charles Manson from early childhood, to Manson recruiting women and men for his cult, and then how and why the murders The Family committed happened in July and August 1969. I even bought the DVD set of the six hour documentary.

Night Gallery Theme Intro is so hauntingly beautiful...It's pretty much the music of my youth in the early 70's, of times I will cherish forever and wish I could go back and relive it all again...Serling was the best..

OP you do an amazing post about almost forgotten TV series from the 1970's. I honestly never felt Night Gallery was that interesting, ever, until I watched your posts! Now I wish you would do deep-dives into other 1960's/1970's shows too - your natural voice (it is your voice isn't it?) is so much better than some AI croaking!

What I Said Before About Tom Wright And His Artworks That Had NO "NIGHT GALLERY" Story To Air! (But WOULD HAVE In The Hands Of Fans!) : It Would Be "Right Up There" With Fan Fiction About That Secret Agent From The Future, -And His Cat, -From The "STAR TREK" Episode "ASSIGNMENT: EARTH" (Which Was Originally A Failed Pilot For A Show About EXACTLY That!) THIS Would Be A Good Subject For Your NEXT Video!

Tom Wright Would Have Been The RICHEST Artist IN THE WORLD If It Wasn't For The Indifference Of The T.V. Studio And Their Big Shots Overwhelming His Right And Claim To His Own Works! -Also, Remember, That He Did More Works Than There Was T.V. Stories For! -Outside The Images That Rod Serling Pointed Out As Holding The "Theme" Of The Story To Be Shown, There Was MANY That One Would. Coldly, Call "Filler" To Make The "NIGHT GALLERY" Set Look Complete And Interesting! -Imagine Some "Fan Club" Making Up Stories To Go With These "Space Filler" Artworks That DIDN'T Have A Story To Air!
