Consistency also equals to not getting lazy. I am not a fan of doing water changes to 3 tanks late at night after working for 12hours while collecting rodi water on a timer and carrying around 5 gallon water buckets around the house breaking my back pouring it in toilets 😅
@queencityreefs15 сағат бұрын
@joesreeflife yes! Laziness is the cryptonite to consistent. I am not either. I started that way but now I have a fairly easy way to do water changes for most tanks. That eliminates not wanting to do it due to breaking my back. Thanks for watching and the the returned support 🙏🏻

What flow rate you put on skimmer just got the 300 can’t find the right spot
@queencityreefs9 күн бұрын
I have been struggling with that myself. There's no flow to control though? I elevated it a bit higher than the intended mark says it should be at and closed the.air intake almost to a full close. And it's working out so far.

I've been using it for several months now and I'll say that it have been wonderful. I've used other brands that eventually open at the magnet area and release rust in my tank. I have not noticed it at all here. Looks like new inside. Very happy with it.

@zacharyvasser2996 my pleasure. Yeah, id say 6 is a good start. Depending on the corals you want to keep you'll be good at 6 or add more.
@zacharyvasser299628 күн бұрын
@queencityreefs definitely going to be a mixed reef I have 3 xr15s on my waterbox 125.4 right now that would be getting swapped so I might run some AI Blades or OR bars to supplement. Did you do a par video when you had the g4s on there ?
At 40 bucks a month man, I'd run a goddamn airline outside for the skimmer. And if you can't run a skimmer because it pulls too much out, just don't do any skimming, just run a needlewheel pump in the sump with the air intake going outside.
@queencityreefsАй бұрын
@Spunk_Mckunkles agreed. Running it outside didn't work for me. But I did find different co2 scrubbing media that puts me at about 15 a month. Maybe less. I personally can work with that. Thanks for watching. 🙏🏻

@queencityreefs fosho, glad you found something that works man. 40 bucks would have been insane, that's more expensive than the salt at that point.

@@telegraham Forgot about that one. I might give it another go on my new nano. I did try and mix a lot of captiv8's trace before. The bottle sat in the cabinet when I took it offline for a few months and turned into a rust color. Dont know what was up with that.

I have done moonshine and Captiv8 and similar methods. Found moonshiners to be very cumbersome and time consuming vs Captiv8. Plus Captiv8 is way more concentrated so you use less and you save money.
