It's a beautiful area, but Rossnos or Trolltunga are not the highest mountains in Norway. They are both under 1500m, and there 377 peaks over 2000 meters. The tallest mountain in that area is just to the south of Rossnos, called Sandfloeggi (1728m). On the other side of Sørfjorden (west side) the tallest mountain is Torsnuten (1576m), and the top of the Folgefonna glacier (1660m). About 40 miles north east lies the tallest peak in the south west of Norway, the top of Hardangerjøkulen at 1863m. The highest point on the Hardangervidda plateau is Folarskardnuten (1933m). The highest mountain in Western Norway is Store Skagastølstind (Storen) at 2405m, just a few miles north east of Sognefjorden.
