The musical talent on that stage is beyond belief.

Grew up on bluegrass in eastern Kentucky and absolutely love this. I used to go to a bluegrass festival once a year in Ashland KY and it was always a blast.

It says a lot about a man's character if he can be humble and talk about others after a round of applause like that.

This is very likely the greatest assembly of banjo talent on one stage there has ever been or ever will be human history.

Have to watch this video at least twice a year. Was ever so much talent together on one stage in their prime?

The craziest part is seeing Saburo Watanabe Inoue…never thought I’d see a Japanese dude let it rip on a banjo! Considering how old this video is

I’ve watched this video dozens of times and I’m always smiling when it’s over.

My cousin Jack Ball also plays banjo. I know several others who also did or do still: Jim Starkey (of Ellijay, Ga.), and Jim Barnett. I believe the actor Steve Martin also plays banjo.

JD Crowe is just as good as Earl. I'm sorry. Earl was his hero as well. My fad beat 4guys on this stage in Tennessee in 1978 along with 44 others to place 1st.

Earl Scruggs is always so humble in all his videos. He never seems to act proud of himself in the sense that he enjoys the fame ,but is more shy and embarrassed like we all were as children.. He seems like such a humble man, who is embarrassed by the amount of respect and admiration he gets, but deserves. You can see it in this video. We need more people like Earl Scruggs.

My 2 year old son can't get enough of this video. When I turn it off he cries Banjo Dadda, Banjo! Until I put it back on. Watching from New Zealand. Love some Earl Scruggs banjo picking goodness
