I’m sorry you feel that way. These aren’t supposed to be “how to” videos, they are a chronicle of what it is like owning and renting out an almost 40 year old French camper. If you’re looking for information reach out to me directly and I’d be happy to give you some tips on removing and reinstalling the starter.

I'm using it for eating in it around dinner time for the winter time only. I had it put behind my work place. It's a cool camper. I would love to get it running one day.

I really enjoyed the whole series of videos. I was looking at these when I was considering purchasing a Rialta, but van remodels share a lot in common. I think some FRP board would look nice on the ceiling, and not too hard to install. Three-year-old video at this point so not even sure if you still own it.
@whatrvthinking47644 ай бұрын
Thanks for watching and thanks for the suggestion on the FRP. We still have Polly, she doesn't get the amount of use she should get now but we still keep her up.

Old video, but do you think these are worth nearly $800? I'm thinking maybe an ARB Style might be a bit easier, but sure do like how compact they are when you fold them up. And I guess these LeSharo's are what the VW rialta's are based on. They look very similar.
@CaptainKevWright5 ай бұрын
Yes, we’ve been very happy with this awning. I’d say it’s worth it! The Rialta is essentially the same camper body on a VW platform with better reliability, performance, and parts availability. That’s why the Rialta still sells used for 5 times the price of a LeSharo.
@TroyD-vo1bz5 ай бұрын
I've been looking for a suitable Rialta for a while, and there are certainly plenty of them available. Problem these days is 75% or better of the shops don't want to touch them, and just trying to find tires for the thing is a real challenge. I believe euro parts and bus depot still sell parts for the Eurovan, but you almost need to do the work yourself to get it done. I have a 2006 Chevy Express cargo van, just a few years newer than the last Rialta build, and you can get those serviced anywhere. You can also pick up parts at any autozone, Napa, etc. Such a huge difference in use and dependability. I cannot imagine owning a Lesharo! In a league of its own there. I've enjoyed watching your videos and the adventures! I don't think my nervous system could handle it!

Hello captain! Will a negotiator I am not and I probably paid $4,000 too much for my lesharo. But I'm pretty sure all tanks are good and all systems work... Which leads me to a request video. How to use the heater the thermostat and the shower with hot water? I'll be trying to sort through this today so by the time you make the video I probably already figured it out. but I think it would be a cool video.... PS evWest would not work on any RV... So I will be looking around. For now it's all Renault! Going to AAA to try to register this thing this morning.

I bought a LeSharo (I think it was 88 or 86) in 2019. Added 10,000 miles to the 45,000 already on it. I kept having problems under the hood, so donated it to Goodwill with a list of known issues. Anyway I lived in it for a year and a half and loved it. Slept in the front. I'm 5'1" and fit in the shower pretty well. It had been kept in good shape inside and out (with the exception of the issues) and also got a lot of attention. I had just retired and loved driving it. I'm an 82yo female and now live in a 5th wheel which I had parked for me on a leased lot in an RV park in the mountains in Southern NM. I miss traveling, but love where I'm at. I would buy the Rialta next time as it did not have the same problems as the LS if I were to go that route again. Thank you for your video. (Speaking of 'boats' I lived on a 1960 wood boat in Alaska for 12 years before I came back to the lower states). Also loved living on the water. Hope you have found work on the boats.

This was such a great episode I would have watched it on America's most wanted or something.😊 I wanted to run an idea by you. I'm a 62 year old electric skateboarder. Among other things. And the skateboards that I work on and ride use hub motors like electric scooters. I believe hub motors will be big enough to put on the back of that RV. Soon. With some sort of Bluetooth kit) and all you'll need is a battery and a controller like the skateboard... Watch for these hub motors they're growing in size every year. Thanks again for a great channel

Thanks for watching! It is easy enough to drive around. It’s obviously a bit wider and longer than a regular car but it’ll fit in a big parking space. It’s very slow, so driving around town can be a slight chore but these little RVs have a surprisingly great ride.

Can you park RVs in the USA in normal parking lots, or do you have to park them in caravan parks every night?
@whatrvthinking4764 Жыл бұрын
Most large cities have parking restrictions, you can't park on the street overnight in certain areas. Here in Chicago you can't park a pick-up truck on the street without a permit. Something I found out when borrowing a family member's truck once. RVs are certainly not a welcome vehicle in most dense cities. I didn't have an issue in Tampa, in fact a parking attendant gave me tips on where to park legally, and it was pretty much everywhere there wasn't a parking meter.

Firstly, an amazing duo. I am about to move from a Westfalia to something with more interior and storage space. I am currently looking at a well maintained, 1984 Le Sharo manual TD. Now that you know what you know ( i.e. the incident), what do we need to do to armor it a bit? They are easier and more attractive to break in and steal compared to a Westy. It worries me but I'm sure there are solutions. I'd welcome any tips that would work well on a Le Sharo. Let me know if you are still as enthusiast with your choice of vehicule.

Out 2.2L gas with 3-speed automatic cruises at about 64 pretty well, but headwinds and hills slow it a fair amount. Up a big hill, like I-24 through Kentucky and Tennessee it will slow to about 45. As I approach a hill I try to speed up as best I can. I notice that at 67-68 (about top speed) the higher rpm’s are a bit better at maintaining speed.
