I just did a search on the USTPA website and their current event calendar in my territory so far this year. They have moved their finals out of Amarillo. I think I documented two or three years in my hometown while they were here. Try a KZbin search for dusty reins USTPA or something similar like dusty reins team penning. I'm not sure if I will find more on my current travel schedule.

Jack Shaw is a neighbor of mine. Very kind person. Thank you for covering Kimball Ne. I work at the Sheriffs Office and our jail is still in operation. The jail was built in 1928, and Grandfathered in. We moved to kimball 3 years ago, nothing but helping folks.

Some people should delve into honest rodeo participants opinions about horse broncing. It is not cruel. Those horses were born to Bronx and are babied in between bouts. Learn what you are talking about before spouting off.

A town near where I live is heavily LDS. It's common for older men in that place to commit white collar crime, be seen in the next town over drinking alcohol, openly having mistresses, etc. It always struck me strange how no one would say anything. Now I know. Thanks 👍

Good questions! There are no standard rules for Mutton Bustin' competitions as these events are governed by the local rodeo board members. The majority of the events I have documented required a 6 second ride to be considered as a qualifying ride just like bull and bronc riding usually require an 8 second ride to earn a score. In these cases, the final score is based solely on time aboard. No points are awarded on the performance of the rider or sheep. For this rodeo, the announcer is allowed to assign points for each rider based on time aboard and the performance of the sheep as he sees fit. The most common rule in this event is usually set by the livestock contractor who limits the riders to weigh a maximum of 45 pounds. Parents are always required to be present with their competitors.
