​@@217adaptiveperspective As a huge fan who's played the games a bunch of times, I can very confidently say that's complete bullshit. In Dead Space 1, the pulse rifle is no better than "Just Okay". Like every other weapon in the game, it pales in comparison to the Plasma Cutter, the king of DS1. You can use it if you want to, but you're better off just using the plasma cutter. In Dead Space 2, I do think it's pretty decent, but the force gun is a much better choice of weapon overall. In Dead Space 3, it's utterly useless unless you have the marauder version. There's so many better options than the regular standard pulse rifle. In the Dead Space Remake, they rebalanced all the weapons and the Pulse Rifle is actually great. It deals a good amount of damage compared to before, and the sound design is amazing. All the weapons in the remake are better than they've ever been before. Except the sawblade, that weapon practically didn't change at all and is still terrible.

True but its secondary fire in the remake has legit saved my life on occasion and its great paired with the death ray that is the contact beam.

The biggest drawbacks of the Remake's iteration is the reduction in RoF and stopping power. This thing used to be able to stunlock individual slashers and now it exists purely to plant tripmines and print credits.

Slept on it on my firstt plaything of deadspace 1. beat deadspace 2 and 3 with the force gun was amazed by its effectiveness

It always felt weak because you didn't see any kind of damage, but now in the remake, this thing is the stuff of nightmare for necromorphs, it peels the skin and flesh right from their bones

Alt fire is almost exclusively to compensate for the weapon's shortcomings. In this situation, the alt fire is for small enemies that you're being overwhelmed by, or indiscriminate area fire to buy you breathing room. You can look at any weapon in the first and see the exact same pattern. That being said, with the exception of the plasma cutter, I basically never used alt fire in the game.

I never really used the secondary fire in both games anyway, since it's situational in 1 and in 2 the Grenade isn't that strong even when fully upgraded. Sure you could use it for the smaller enemies, but it's wasting ammo and the Force Gun can take them out instantly with one shot and 1 ammo.

Laser sights already get the job done and It uses very low caliber rounds that must be projected by magnets or some Sort of futuristic shit. There Is no powder detonation, which means a recoil close to non existent

@@randomjap8431 I think it fires supersonic rounds that fracture bone and liquify flesh. The Lore behind it said that it was made like that for the least amount of recoil and to not puncture the inside of ships or other important areas.

100% agree. This tool basically uses raw damage, unlike the other tools where they have their own utility and not based purely on damage but the Contact Beam as I said, relies on raw damage.

I love to use the contact beam aswell i combo it with the force gun plasma cutter and linegun.
