Thank you! Had a couple hiccups during the actual OS install but after a few tries it worked. If anyone’s having problems installing, when you’re in the OS install process and your machine restarts, press cmd option P R to reset the PRAM. When you do this your machine will restart again and you will have to start the OS install again. Another issue I had was my MacBook was shutting down instead of restarting during the OS install. Connecting the charger fixed this for me.

A question . i loaded ventura on the laptop no issues and if i was to load say sonoma from the ventura its asks me if i want t update to that in the os in updates , so can i just do it from the laptop as a straight upgrade now that it has ventura on it? , i dont need to go through the open core process to do that again? cheers

I got my near top spec model with the 2.8Ghz CPU and the dual graphics for $285. It's in pretty good shape save for the bottom panel being sanded in one place(probably to remove an asset number) The battery did need replaced as while it was at 74% health, it had literal holes on the battery. After that though, it runs fine.

The 2018 Mini is a cool little machine. I got one for testing the MacOS Sequoia Beta, I eventually plan to dual boot windows and get an external GPU for it. probably a 5600XT. Kinda want to use it as a powerful Mac, and a compact and portable gaming PC. The 6-core i7 in mine is capable enough for most modern games.

I got myself a used 2015 Macbook Pro just yesterday for 275 bucks and it's in a great condition. I just installed macOS Monterey yesterday but looks like I should try this out as well 😁

I think people get this because of schools, our school disabled linux development and the play store, limiting us to only browser basied apps. Also schools mosty buy the cheapest laptop giving people a bad experience.

Hello Steve or anyone else who can help,I have a mid 2012 MacBook Pro and have followed your videos on KZbin to upgrade to several operating systems. A few days ago I decided to follow your video and upgrade to Sonoma, everything was going well and I got to the point to install on my ssd and upon waiting for it to go through its restarts it gave me an error message that reads “Storage system verify or repair failed, :(-69716), when I click ok it brings me to a page that reads choose startup disk and it has my ssd listed and then a restart button and below that it has target disk mode with a button beside it that reads restart in target disk mode. When I click the restart button with my ssd selected it brings me to the restart page with an option to select install Sonoma or select my ssd. Upon selecting my ssd it brings me to the bootup page with the apple logo but progress goes just a little bit and stops there and will go no further and it’s stuck there.

hi @Eevnos, the install seems to have run fine, however, the root patches don't seem to be working and i'm stuck with the tiniest resolution. on top of that, it isn't giving me wireless capability. I run the post install root patches, reboot the machine, but nothing changes. any ideas???!

Is there a reason you chose tiny 11 over tiny 8.1? From all the testing I've seen, tiny 8.1 runs a lot better winning all benchmarks given it is a much lighter OS.

QUESTION- Even though I unchecked the Boot picker in Open Core my system still defaults to it on every restart. It's so annoying and time waisted! I am running Chrome OS Flex on several Desktops and Chrome OS on several ChromeBooks. I am also using Microsoft's VS Code on my Desktops and ChromeBooks. For ChromeBooks, we are using Lenovo Duets which are thin and light.
