Hello, im after some advise on how to set up and what equipment i need to make vinyl decal transfers for things like bottle and glass/cups. Can i use a normal printer or what equipments and materials i need for this. Only for personal use but i am literally a beginner n have no idea on whats needed. Much appreciated if you can kind of give me a quick guide please.❤

So for vinyl decals you just need Adhesive vinyl and transfer tape, you don't need a printer. This is to cut out of vinyl, and I just apply it using transfer tape, so yes I did do it correctly for it’s purpose

How do you get inspiration but not copy designs? I feel like it can be a fine line.

You're so right, it really can be a fine line! I'll just try and take inspiration from one or two things for style, one thing for colour combinations and then something else for a phrase, or will try and come up with my own similar phrase, and then if I mix things together like that it doesn't feel like I'm too close to anyone else's design.

I'm not 100% - but I would recommend creating a template that is the size of your board and adding the wording over the top to see what looks good before making it, that's usually the best way to figure out the size

why when I put the box over the word do I not get the "lock" box in the corner...I just get the arrows to adjust the size and then slice still isn't available?

I’m not sure about the lock box - are you using the app rather than desktop? Then for slice you need to make sure both the wording and box are definitely selected.

I've make my PNG at 400 dpi in photoshop but when I take it to design space the quality drops and it prints fuzzy... what am I doing wrong?

Just give whoever you’re ordering off the dimensions of your sign and they will size the decals to fit, they won’t need font sizes.

Im looking for pinted vinyl supplier who prints on that breathable vinyl. Its got to be better than this uv dtf, but i need to scuff & clear coat for best result. Any expansion contraction, also with any prolonged heat will see faults with the uv dtf.

Yes that’s right, with no background. I’ve actually started using Illustrator since I made this video though and saving it as an SVG and that is a bit of a quicker process.

At the moment I’m making decals for my business mostly on a Siser Juliet - this can cut 12 inches wide, and then when I use vinyl rolls, it can cut really long, but I tend to cut about 45 inches max length at a time.

You can yes, you will need a transparent png if you want to cut out of vinyl or htv, or you can add an offset and flatten if you want to make a sticker.

It's not something I have tested, but I would say no as the ones I had weren't super flexible, and also they're a bit raised, so I don't think they would work quite as well as when vinyl is added to vehicles.

1 season & its splitting on my glass. Not good for outdoors, same experience on magnet cover sheets. Waxing did not help much to prolong it. Im part of a group, & they dont want you to know. Heat dries it out quicker, & lacks flexibility indeed.

I have tried the things you mention, even moving the right roller a bit more to the left. Sometimes the vinyl moves so far it is no longer under a roller and just goes crazy so it's trash. Of course I lock it down each time but it's as if it is not locked. By the way, what brand of vinyl do you use? I used to use DeTape from MDP in UK and it was great! But they will no longer ship to Italy. Is Oracal also a good brand? I bought a roll on Amazon and it is horrible. Very difficult to weed, sometimes damaging the characters. Thanks for a great video!

I was having the same problem with my older cameo 4 so I ended up getting rid of it - no matter what I did it ended up wasting so much vinyl, it’s so frustrating! Perhaps contact Silhouette and see if they have any new tips for troubleshooting? My newer Cameo 4 works much better but I now use my Siser Juliet so much more so I’m thinking of getting rid of that one too. I use Ritrama from MDP. That’s a shame that they don’t ship to you anymore. I have used Oracal and haven’t had any issues with it, and a lot of people recommend it. But saying that, I have mostly cut it on my cricut rather than my Cameo so that may have something to do with it. Have you tried Siser Easy PSV? They are an Italian company so I’m assuming they may have an Italian site to purchase from or an Italian distributor? And you’re very welcome, thanks for watching!

No it’s not the same app, you need a different one for desktop. If you google Cricut design space using the computer you want to use, then it should take you to a page that will give you the correct link to download Design Space for desktop.
