Cut content The range of item toss can be used to judge when vikala is able to toss into cannon as well. Bomb causes a soft knockdown on hit If smokebomb is tossed at you when you’re close to the corner it can create the shroud offscreen and become useless. (Star Stuff) Star can bounce over or under some projectiles Vikala’s star starts off at minus 6 on block but distance and interactions can make it plus. If vikala is at a point blank range, unless you’re a character with a bigger model like vaseraga, a toss with her unique action will hit or get blocked by you once, then go behind you. At this point she is about minus 6 on block and punishable with a far light. Unless You are in the corner where it bounces back at you. Leaving a gap that is too short for a normal. And she will be like plus 19. If you’re around half a character away, like after a close light or triple attack, it will go forward after it connects, hitting you a second time. There’s a small gap between hits, but its too short for normals and vikala recovers before your invincible move or dodge goes off, turning those options into guesses. And after the second hit, Vikala will be around plus 19 on block. Really specific specials like yuels invincible backdash could get out though. For the first and second range scenarios even if you get hit its like a 1 frame gap where you can block or guess a dp. If its a longer range, star will bounce off of you, then go in the another direction when it connects. Technically, there’s a range for this interaction where you block star once, and its your turn. But since its such a small zone, I recommend just thinking that vikala is plus. When vikala does a toss with back and u, and its close enough for star to hit you before really going into the air, It will connect then, drop from above for a second hit. In this gap, vikala is minus 6 letting you punish. I don’t see the niche for jumping and doing a really low to the ground item toss as yet but if this situation happens its possible to block the star or ball and its still your turn . Situation that prob won’t occur- If Vikala ever presses back and unique at a certain spacing, where the item gets to fall from above, There’s like 50 frames before it reaches you. So you can punish Vikala with a normal, before the item connects.

@@Xseleon hmm. I think there are a good amount of similar moves like this in the game from what I've tested. But what keeps them in check is a range similar to dash m so staying out of its range is more viable as counterplay. Compared to the h version going about as far as beatrix's fireball.

The L version still puts her on defense, which as we all know by now, is her weakest state. If she's not in install after, you can bully her for using L samsara, forcing her to spend valuable resources to deal with you or else she gets very little return.

As a Gran player that is also in Master theres things that I can point out: 1. 1:01 Gran can 214L > 214M pre-patch even on whiff. The buff was to do 214L > 214H as a follow up this was to get better damage in sertain situations and improves consistency with his combos starting from a poke such as f.M since hitting with the tip of the sword and then 214H doesn't work all the time depending on the character so all you could do pre-patch was f.M > 236H > 66L > f.L > 214H > c.M > 236H (with no meter on the corner) and f.M > 236U > c.M > Whatever you want wich both versions scaled pretty hard so didnt have damage and in some cases it was not worth it since you use all you skills after the combo that you couldn't use for pressure. 2. Doing in neutral 214L and cancel it into a 214M is a total of 46-49 frames (depending on when you cancel the 214L) and between the 2 moves you have a gap of 8 frames and doing that would be -6 to -10 at worst (depending on spacing) and obviosly a good Gran player would do that with a spacing that leaves him +1 on block or gamble it and do 214H to get a combo in the corner so a great player would counter this by reacting with a reversal, jumping or using a fireball or disjointed long lasting hitbox (with proper timing). 3. Gran 214L is -4/-5 on block depending on Spacing. How ever Graveyard used it after a poke and in some situation it can leave gaps depending on how the Gran player times it so you could mash M DP so just keep that in mind. 4. 11:22 Gran SSBA is -18 on block so instead of using f.H you cound just microdash c.M and get a punish. 5. 13:18 Gran in that situation leaves a Gap of 18 frames but if you guessed that hes going for 5U after hitting 5H on block you can spotdodge your +5 but be carefull because he can just charge it and hit you from a counter hit and in that scenario with that spacing all he can do is continue Oki but from closer Gran can link a Lvl 0 Power Charge into f.L (or f.M depending on character and spacing). 6. You can apply the same mix from point 5. with fireball but whats the difference? you might ask and well if gran pressures with poke > 236L and you guessed it with spotdodge you can actually punish him for that (example it the opponent spotdodge in between f.H > 236L Gran is -32 and with f.M his -34) but if gran guess that he can 236M and on counter hit from close proximity he can get a 66L or microdash f.L into a combo obviously it would be scaled but he has combos that gurantee power charge lvls and still be + to still get the pressure going. 7. 18:30 for Gran in that situation if hes going to cross up with a button is way better to do j.M closer to the ground because it gives you time to link into c.L/c., its frame 6 and is an overhead. 8. 20:30 Thats one of the most obvious boot I have ever seen at that range he could go for a 66M if he wanted to play agressive and be -6/-7 (wich is safe considering the spacing) and that move is frame 12 start up compared to 13 frames of start up 214H. Still if he wanted to do something better at that situaion i will personally trow some fireballs while I try to get a boot with better spacing 9. 21:49 at that range 236H is not a bad option since it leaves you at +5/+6 and dashing like that leave a big gap so another option for Gran is bassicly shimmy and whiff punish or just 66L the worst the opponent can do is use a reversal and if the opponent doesnt have that option is a clash. And those are basiccly the points i'll add/correct to the video tbh. Outside of that most of these things I said can be taken in consideration for mix ups/mind games

As a Bea player - neutral jump extremly effective against her. It counters both dive kick and slide, but you need to read it use.

Additional Tips: If you see other versions apart from the ult version on your wakeup at a distance dodge might work but up close, Versusia might be able to punish this. You can tell the difference between light and medium fireball through the voice lines. But Versusia can say nothing on both sometimes so I didn't mention it in video.

@@ardidsonriente2223 lol that's the case for a lot of characters in certain situations. I think Everyone has something like a reversal for 50 percent meter and meter gain is crazy fast in this game. And there's the 50 percent meter counterplay like an ult fireball and since belial's fireball is a little slower than usual it's easier to catch on reaction.

For anyone reading it's also important to note as it wasn't mentioned. She can space trap you after you block it at certain distances so moving towards her might be a risk in and of itself a lot of times if they're ready.

Additional Tips: another thing to note about fireball wars is that she is invulnerable during the lightning bolt followup so she will win most of the time if she has a stock ready. From @captnBill_ . Light pillar is plus 2 on an air block, medium and heavy are plus 5. And ultimate is plus 50. Doing the followup against an air block leaves versusia at +17. medium version and ult version are pretty easy to parry for belial. Watch the range when taking back your turn. Versusia might go for a spacing trap. from @freddiewompton .

@@АнатолийКнязьков-р6я well best non character specific strategy is to try to spotdodge on reaction, avoid the chip and push back and get into a range where you can threaten her more, making using deadly flare more risky. Heavy is hard to react to but puts it on cool down. so you win that interaction in a way even if you don't react fast enough to block it. Trying to outrun the pillars when you think they are going to use it is something you can do from time to time as well.

The bigger problem I have with Versusia is her animations. It just feels really difficult to see what she is doing imo. Visual clarity is at an all time low with this character.
