At long last the annual ball has arrived. I marked down all dates leading up to this one. The day is intimidating I must admit. But not for the reason you think. Today is not important because of a frivolous ball. It is truly important because today is the day of my freedom. [ I gaze down at the golden promise hugging my ring finger. ] I might cherish the sight if only it were given to me by the man I love. You see I'm to be given to a man I despise. I feel everything in me scream "run! leave!" but all I can do is stand idle. Looking afar... My Father closes the grand ballroom doors on my lover. It felt as if my heart itself had be closed. Closed off from ever loving again. I hear my other half banging on the doors, screaming my name.. But I just stand there. Crying silent tears. I look down to the ring on my hand and angrily remove it and throw it on the marble floor. Then the man who gave me this cursed ring walks up to me. His blood red suit fitted to his body. As he reaches closer and closer to me he picks up the ring. He then lifts himself ever so closely to my tear stained face. And begins to caress my tears away. He fits the ring back on my finger and whispers into my ears. "A promise..is a promise." He grabs my hips and begins to twirl me simultaneously to the music engulfing the room.
