Spider-Man getting jumped by the Sinister Six reminded me of the island scene in Superman Returns. It was very disturbing and heartbreaking to see Superman basically get tortured in that film. Especially when I was little, I cried my eyes out during that scene. Marvel and DC can be very dark when they want to. Don't let the movies fool you they are both pretty dark. But they can be very lighthearted and fun as well.

See its just as I thought, that neural web thing they made was infecting Dr. Otto's mind for sometime now and after Martin Li's city hall attack happened that gave him BAD ideas! And now he's gone and broke out all the villains and affected the whole city with the Devil's Breath and the city is now just a mess and Aunt May is SICK!!! Guess ever since Norman took all of Dr. Otto's stuff from his lab in the first place he's had this whole plan in the works and Peter didn't even know about it. Nice work defeating Electro and Vulture!

Doctor Octopus, my favorite Spider-Man villain with Green Goblin, and Venom behind in my top pick, even Bryan Intihar stated that Doc Ock was his favorite too, that's why he's in the 1st game. Despite the many supervillains in this game, Norman Osborn is the real villain of this game franchise, and you'll find out in the sequels, and since I've played the older games, Electro having a harness to become pure energy felt like something from the 2001 game Spider-Man 2 Enter Electro, Rhino having a suit while also being huge, feels like a combination of his classic look and Ultimate design. Also a bit of trivia the voice of Vulture in this game Dwight Schultz has voiced the character before in the 2002 Spider-Man movie game, and 2005 release of Spider-Man 2 movie game on PSP, Electro's voice actor Josh Keaton, has voiced Spider-Man in other Marvel projects plus he has a KZbin channel (Hint: Battle Focus can help you heal fast after pressing both thumbsticks down next time you're close to losing.) Since you got to see Otto's plan as well as him and Martin Li's shared hatred of Norman, it's better to make Norman look helpless by taking what matters to him, his company. Plus releasing Devil's Breath on the people in Times Square was to make the city see that Osborn didn't care about whatever it took to make Devil's Breath, especially when making dealings with Wilson Fisk the Kingpin of Crime to build the lab via Fisk Construction, and when Kingpin of all people is scared of what Norman is doing, you know there's something very wrong. Since you didn't listen to all Otto recordings on ruining Norman I will have to type it out since I memorized this game since 2018 "How many men would I need? It’s so cool seeing a more mature Peter Parker interacting with Miles Morales. If you didn’t know, Miles is originally from the Ultimate Universe (Earth-1610), which was part of Marvel’s Ultimate imprint. That imprint kicked off with Ultimate Spider-Man #1 (2000) and was meant to be a fresh continuity for new readers, updating classic Marvel stories for the 21st century without needing to know decades of history. Miles was introduced in Ultimate Fallout #1 (2011), a comic dealing with the aftermath of 16-year-old Peter Parker’s death at the hands of the Sinister Six. Because of that, Miles never got the chance to interact with his universe’s Spider-Man. The first time Miles met a Spider-Man was when Earth-616 Peter Parker (the main Spider-Man) was transported to the Ultimate Universe in the Spider-Men miniseries (2012). So we saw the older, more experienced Peter who we've been following since Amazing Fantasy #15 (1962) meeting Miles, who had taken up the mantle of Spider-Man in his world. They compared their universes, and Peter even visits Aunt May, Gwen etc. Who open up once they find out he's actually Peter Parker and ask all hints of questions, though MJ never shows up since its too much. Gwen along with MJ are younger as well, 16 to 17 etc. Later, during Secret Wars (2015), the Ultimate Universe was destroyed, but Miles and his family were written into the main Marvel Universe. Since 2015, Miles has been active alongside the main Peter Parker. There is a Miles Morales in the Mainline Universe (Earth-616) who is much older and was a member of the Rigoletto Crime Family. Peter once he returned to the Mainline universe, googled Miles Morales, finding this guy.

41:57 For a second, I thought Electro was about to break into Avengers Tower over on the right, but nope. Would’ve been a cool little cameo to have The Avengers show up fighting back the prisoners. One of my little issues with this game is it feels like Spider-Man is the only active hero in New York while all of this is going down. I guess you can pretend they’re off dealing with their own problems or fighting in the background, but Marvel’s New York is supposed to have 1,500 active heroes out of the 8.258 million people living in the city. But I can’t really blame them for that. It is a Spider-Man game, after all... I just want to know where The Avengers are while this is all going down. Not a single Avenger in that tower!!!

So you officially met Doctor Octopus. Also known as Doc Ock, he is one of Spider-Man’s three arch enemies. You haven’t met his other two biggest foes yet. 👀 He first appeared in Spider-Man issue 3 (1963) and had been a threat to Peter for years. He also was the leader of the Sinister Six. The Sinister Six are six of Peter’s enemies working together for one goal: destroy Spider-Man. The group roster changes over the years but this is the game’s depiction of the team being: Doc Ock, Vulture, Scorpion, Electro, Rhino, & Mister Negative.

This iteration of Doctor Octopus where he is a mentor figure for Peter before he becomes a villain is more so an adaptation of the character from the 90s Spider-Man animated series and his later depiction in the movies. In the comics Otto didn't know Peter before he became a villain. The whole thing of adaptations showing Peter knowing his villains before they become villains has been a bit overdone in more modern years. I prefer the original version but this is still great.

When you said you didn't know anything about Spider-Man I thought I shouldn't mention that Otto is the villain Doctor Octopus in the comics before you saw him in the game. I am a little surprised you hadn't at least heard of him since he's the second most famous Spider-Man villain after Green Goblin who is Spider-Man's arch nemesis.

Idk if you typically check out movie recommendations, but if you do i would highly recommend Spider-Man into the Spiderverse and Spider-Man across the Spiderverse (maybe after you beat these games). They're some of the best movies for this character and honestly good comfort movies, also the visuals are just CRAZY its insane how much eye candy you're given. Other than that, good vid :)))

Otto and Peter also share a close bond as a mentor figure, with Peter even looking up to him as a kid. Otto also seems to have played a key role in founding Oscorp alongside Norman Osborn. This kind of pulls from the Ultimate Universe, where Otto worked for Oscorp and was caught in a lab explosion alongside Norman. The accident fused the tentacle harness to Otto's body, driving him to seek revenge against Oscorp and Norman, same themes highlighted in this game. So yeah, definitely took a unique direction with Doctor Octopus. Personally, I wouldn’t call him Spider-Man’s arch-nemesis, that title belongs to the Green Goblin. However, Doc Ock is a close second. You could argue that Doctor Octopus is Spider-Man's arch-nemesis, while Green Goblin is Peter Parker's arch-nemesis.

When you're swinging, press X before letting go of R2 then you'll swing much faster and it's more enjoyable! Think you'll appreciate it!

Just a tip to make swinging a bit easier and faster... While holding R2 (swing button) press A and spidey will accelerate himself (but remember you have to be holding R2 when you press A or else you’ll just end up web zipping) I see a lot of new players struggle with swinging because they don’t press A at the end of each swing to accelerate themselves.

First of all I can't believe Martin Li is throwing his whole F.E.A.S.T. career away for a personal vendetta against Norman Osborn and he also thinks he can't fight the demon in him. Second what Osborn did to Dr. Otto was wrong but he really needs to calm himself down before he starts to get any bad ideas and does something he'll regret. 1:10:00 Mary Jane's got some guts sneaking through Tombstone's hideout that's for sure! Also Peter and MJ's dinner date at her place reminded me of when they were married and living in an apartment together in the classic Spider-Man comics. Whenever something was going down Peter would change into his spider suit and go out the window and MJ would just wait for him to come back. 2:17:00 Norman is definitely up to something here. He’s not my favorite villain, but he’s definitely an interesting one and has his fans. I really loved how they handled the character in Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017), with Michael Keaton absolutely nailing the role. It’s funny how Keaton played Batman, then Birdman, and then got cast as Vulture... there’s definitely a trend going on there lol 1:56:51 The Halloween party, for me at least, was a bit disappointing. They had the perfect opportunity to include references to the broader Marvel universe, students dressed up as Avengers, X-Men, Fantastic Four, Daredevil, etc. This game exists in a larger Marvel universe, after all. Iron Man and Captain America were even mentioned in Peter’s notes about Otto, where he says kids his age grew up idolizing them, though for him it was always Otto. Plus, there are plenty of Marvel landmarks in New York, like Avengers Tower. So legally there's no problem, but for some reason, though, the game seems a bit hesitant to fully lean into non-Spider-Man characters. Feels odd seeing generic Halloween customs in a world with Superheroes, half of these guests would've been dressed as The Avengers, Fantastic Four and maybe the X-Men, though Anti Mutant hate is still a big problem so it could paint a target on their head.

Tip of advice, my friend, don't play Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. Especially if you love the Arkham games.
