When you were talking about memories being attached to nature sounds before you were listening to music and said "the trees rustling," it unlocked a childhood memory I completely forgot about!!!

First of all, the algorithm here has done a great job as this video popped up on my suggested bar after 3 months of music detox. Secondly, i have decided to cut music off after my headphones broke and it was rent pay day, i took it as a sign. I had always wanted to do it because of the reasons you (beautifully) outlined. I would listen to it to numb my emotions but most of all to intensify them. Most of the times i would listen to it just because, even when i wasn't feeling much like doing it. It became an authomatic mechanism i was addicted to. The outcomes of the experience were the same as yours: more emotional clarity and more attention to the surrounding world. Combining this detox with meditation made it even better. I've bought new headphones a week ago but only used them twice for 10/20 minutes in total. I also played music at home only two days in a week and only when i genuinely wanted to, asking myself thrice if i was feeling like it. Awareness and emotional clarity are the KEY. Good job on the video, really enjoyed it. You have a new subscriber :)

Islam made it totally prohibited, among the many issues with music is that it affect your mental and emotional state. In the Quran 13:28 , it says ''verily in the remembrance of Allah the hearts find peace''. Also the instruments not only can alter your state of mind. Have you ever listened to music and realized that the sad music would make you sad. Or the upbeat music would make you energetic. Beside the Islamic prohibition, I learned to get bored again. I am okay with the surroundings and I found tranquility and my heart is at ease. Alhamdoulilah

I did a music detox for one month in Ramadan our Fasting month in Islam ( Music with instruments is not allowed in Islam ) as I'm very addicted to music and I love to discover new music every After one month was like a completely new person I'm more focused on things and relaxed and not nervous anymore when I'm walking in the street like I was when listening to music And I replaced music with religious podcasts and I'm getting more educated every day I'm so satisfied with that

Reading through your references helped me understand more of what really comforts me when I listen to music. It's looking forward to the silence that stills the vibrations in my ears when the music is all over.

I really enjoyed your video's unique presentation style. It was refreshing to watch a video without any intro or background music. I've noticed a lot of comments mentioning a daydreaming effect while listening to music, and unfortunately, I've been experiencing the same thing for about a year. It's like my mind escapes to another world, making me feel disconnected from reality. I've been trying to fill those two hours with productive activities like reading, even when I'm not particularly interested. However, music has always helped me focus on boring tasks. It's a dilemma because while I'm not fully engaged, it's still better than doing nothing. I'm unsure if I should try to change this habit or if there's a better alternative for those dull moments.

قال الله تعالى: وَمِنَ النَّاسِ مَنْ يَشْتَرِي لَهْوَ الْحَدِيثِ لِيُضِلَّ عَنْ سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ بِغَيْرِ عِلْمٍ وَيَتَّخِذَهَا هُزُوًا أُولَئِكَ لَهُمْ عَذَابٌ مُهِينٌ ۝ "And of the people is he who buys lahw al-hadith (the amusement of speech) to mislead [others] from the way of Allah without knowledge and who takes it in ridicule. Those will have a humiliating punishment" luqman 6-7 (lahw al-hadith: as singing and playing of the musical instruments) Everything in our day-to-day life nowadays and every issue spreading in our modern world was mentioned in the Quran hundreds of years ago , showing the miracle of this book. Subhan allah alhamdulillah for the blessing of islam. May allah guide us all.

i stopped listening to music for religious and emotional reasons, music really does connect you to phases of your life and also i tend to connect certain types of music to people so listening to music for me at least is very emotionally triggering. i seem to appreciate music more now though because i rarely listen to it so im not as used to it as i used to be, its like a dopamine hit

This video depicts the downside effects of the advice from content creators who recommend people to capture every stage of their life even when the are struggling so that they can constantly stay in the loop of content creation for their audience and never running out of content idea. They forget that they are trading their authenticity for clouts

I've looked into a lot of interesting things about music, especially theories and I've found people stating that music today (main stream) has frequencies in it to make you feel and think things. People also say it is like a form of mind control, I'm not really sure about these statements but it is interesting to think about.
