i enjoyed this video i appreciate it im 18 atm .. i graduated this year but in november of 23’ i decided i was gonna get my grades up and get outa school so i can start msc process .. i went to nasnemond river. i alr knew the process was long because my dad is a 2nd mate and have been coaching me since 15. i got out january 25 as of november 10th i just received my mmc it was a lot of set backs but i wanna go in as a wiper and work my way to eu and hopefully work my ass of for that 3rd engineer

I've been trying to bust into MSC. I am currently a QMED. I have a handful of certs in my MMC; VPDSD, RFPEW, Oiler, Lifeboatman/PSC, AS-E, and OSHA 10/30. To be hired the MSC Recruiter says I need more schools and endorsements. At least one more long one. Deck Machinist/Pumpman. At least a Month Long and $5600 out of pocket. It seems like it never ends. You didn't say what Dept you are in currently. Deck, Supply, or Engineering. Private side is a real pain. Work you like a dog and treat you like a dog. I almost think my 2nd job is the guy they kick as a benny for the Upper Ranks. Not a good situation. Kind of vile actually. You work East or West Coast?

Do you get to pick what cost you want to go to?

On the MSC site there aren't any entry level openings right now. Is there a hiring freeze or do they add new entry level jobs monthly? How often do they post the entry level jobs, for example wiper ?

And I mean again because I applied in 2022 and got all my stuff was offered a spot but chicken out. I felt I wasn’t in the right head space. I thought I was but in reality I wasn’t.
