As a nascar fan for 35 years.....this book is eye opening. I think it should be made into a movie. Red Byron's life needs to be told

There couldn't be a more important time for the Voices and Votes: Democracy in America exhibit to be available to Brunswick County residents. Many thanks to Patricia Dew and our library branch managers for making our libraries a resources for people of any age to find what they need to improve their quality of life!

I still enjoy reading my daily newspaper delivered to my home. Sure it's not the latest news but it's a professionally edited selection of the most important news stories of the past 24 hours. My newspaper doesn't use bandwidth or battery on my phone and doesn't tire my eyes reading it. To me digital is relatively invisible and "out of sight is out of mind" right? Newspapers literally hits the streets: they're seen. I like also the tactile nature of paper and how I can personally engage and interact with it, like saving clippings. Digital records on the other hand can be altered - remember 1984 the novel?

Brendan wrote a wonderful book and story, and one that people need to hear. I was not aware of the unique struggles in the world of classical music but was not surprised by it. Kudos for NC Humanities for bringing this to us.

It's ironic that TV used to be faster than newspapers, but it's reversed with the internet.

I work for an independently owned newspaper/media company in Louisiana. It's a difficult time to keep a DAILY printed newspaper going. But, we're working hard to keep it going, and take pride that we are still around in 2023! Was so happy to see this documentary!!

And alteady this is probably no longer "modern." Things in the news world, or world altogether, cbange so fast. A lot of newspapers these days are even just working from home.

A poet friend of mine in Lexington turned me on to you people. I am an instructor at Forsyth Technical Community College in Winston-Salem and I'm a little embarrassed that I didn't know more about the organization and its programs. Now that I am better informed, I look forward to becoming involved. Peter Deane

"Driving with the Devil" is a very good book, one of my favorite books on racing, it really describes in an entertaining way the cultural underpinnings of stock car racing in the South and the early days of such racing. My great-grandparents were from Turnerville, Georgia, which was a hotbed of bootleggers and moonshiners many years ago.
