Very timely guidance (it feels like life advice, career advice, sector advice, and academic advice all in one). Am extremely grateful that you guys recorded this and left it on here for me to access years later. I hope to switch careers and start over with a Commerce (Finance major) degree in a few months. Came across your video while searching for any helpful lectures in the discipline that can help me daily prepare my mindset in the line of commerce and finance way ahead of my first ever class at the university that am applying to. I really needed this talk and feel more clear-minded now, better guided, and better prepared. So thank you (Prof. Chris and York University).

This guy is the reason that so many under the poverty line and on disability are still starving. He had the gall in 1995 to say that they should haggle with shop owners for dented cans of food. He isn't a hero, he's a loser who is sitting on a 2 million dollar fortune while the poor are eating cat food out of the tin.

The music in the background is really distracting, and it would help if the speaker spoke louder and expressed changing tones. Philosophy can be useful, but it's not going to get students a job unless they go Ph.D. and win the lottery with being hired as a philosophy professor.

Liberal Arts degree? Lol. They still lets kids waste money on that joke of a major? As a man who grew up in Klamath Falls and Chiloquin, I know the huge difference between the Modocs and Klamath Indians. The Modoc people are the greatest human beings I’ve ever known, they love completely and genuinely as well as have a great sense of humor. They are very intelligent and forgiving, I miss my Modoc friends greatly.

This man is likely to be a facilitator between where we have been and where we are going as the human family. Remember that women with children are also homeless and until we find a way for women to have a place with their children, we are doing much less tha we should when we tell women to leave abusive situations. Leave for what? Abandonment, poverty, lack of connection

There needn't be a "universal definition" of the Metis Nation because just as it is for any other nation, they set the parameters for themselves. That defining effort was ratified in 2002. The attempts since then for various groups to piggy back onto the Metis win for recognition and rights has unfortunately blown up to unimaginable and unreasonable numbers throughout Canada. Regardless, the Metis Nation hold ancestral rolls that are known and must be adhered to for any and all who would make the claim of being Metis.
