I think it's just a timing thing, if you dash jump you should be able to get close enough to the wall to kick off. Might have to hit it instantly as soon as your in range though.

Definitely harder than it looks. My problem is not being able to charge while constantly wall jumping. I wish they put save states in the legacy collection, so I can practice this fight.

It's optimal to fire 2 Missiles (4 on Normal) and then 1 Super Missile into Mother Brain's eye for max damage in the same cycle and to save some time (not just for speedrunning, the longer you stay in that room, the more damage you're likely to take unless you farm a lot).

It really is. I may be getting old, but I thought that boss was some bullshit. I get it's supposed to be hard, but the final Mecha Ridley is a pushover in comparison. Then I look back to Super Metroid and the Mother Brain fight there is a glorified cut-scene that you have to push buttons to get through.

I swear, the ice tunnel at the start of this level gave me _far_ too much trouble when I was doing the no-death clear for this one. Good stuff on pulling it off so cleanly!
