ddc would outperform d5 if you added gpu waterblock, D5 flowrate drops more significatnly with more restriction compared to ddc.

Think i might buy this after this review. Liking the speeds it offers you on the various floor. Ours is just a ground and 1st floor 3 bedroom house so range should be decent? I'm hoping itll reach our security camera in the garden where we have to put the router wont be too far away from where the cameras based! About 15-20ft should be a good range for that then?

Also Its important to turn 60hz 4k on instead of 59.99hz or 30hz. This keeps happening on every windows install. It's in the same page as display settings. You'll feel something is off when you play video games.

Those who ordered one just make sure to calibrate hdr properly on their PC and keep most things standard. Use the color calibration to lower reds if needed. I use a black image to get the right gamma as well as this will depend on the room

This is... quite possibly the worst review I've ever seen. As an owner of the AMD version of this laptop (8845HS & 4050), I'll do you a favour and correct your "review": 1. It's not $1500. Lenovo's products go on huge sales all the time; I paid $1400 cad (~$1000 usd) for mine. 2. The screen. It's great. OLED response time and blacks are amazing. Some people think 2k isn't high enough resolution for a 16" laptop, but it's been more than enough for me. The glare isn't bad as long as you're not, hear me out: BLASTING it with bright LED ring lights. Yes, I think it would be beneficial if the screen was a bit brighter, as the glare can be mildly inconvenient in bright environments (ie: next to a sunny window), however; it's nowhere near as bad as you portray it to be. 4. The keyboard is really good. It's a Lenovo. They're known for making great keyboards. It feels great to type on and it' not too loud, although I agree that there is slightly too much deck flex. 4.a) The backlight. It's great. It's bright enough. It's clearly visible in bright rooms and the low power mode is more than enough in darker environments. There is some bleed around the edges of the keys. I personally don't mind it but some people might. 5. Trackpad. It's alright. It doesn't have a "cheap clicking sound" it just has a louder click. It's a mechanical trackpad, so not as good as haptic, however; it's still good enough for everything I use the laptop for. Fairly large, accurate, and smooth. I have ran into the responsiveness issue, though it's not as major as you stated and has nothing to do with "bad build quality". 6. Camera. You stated it's "one of the best we've seen". I don't know how, but you were wrong on the one thing you praised the laptop for. It's not great. It's oversaturated and the colours aren't accurate. 7. Upgradability. As I can tell there is no 32gb model offered in NA. Past that, it's normal for most high-powered modern laptops to be fairly locked down upgrade wise. This laptop is actually slightly ahead because it has a second unoccupied M.2 slot. 8. It's not a single heatpipe and fan. It's got 2 fans (which can be seen by... flipping the laptop over), and presumably 2 heatpipes (can't confirm, I haven't double checked) 9. Build quality. There's not a lot of flex (in the body or screen), contrary to what you stated. The construction and build quality also doesn't feel cheap. It's all aluminum, making everything feel fairly rigid and premium. 10. Performance. Can't speak much in this case, as I have the AMD variant and can't double check the stats from the Intel version. One thing I will mention though is that measuring NPU speed in Ghz is meaningless, TOPS would've been more useful. And even still the 4050 would leave the NPU in the dust for AI workloads Final summary: "Windows 11 Home - really?" Yes really. It's not an enterprise machine. If it was built with the intent of being used in a workplace (like the ThinkPads) then it'd have Pro. I also don't want to be spending extra for a pro license when I'll never use any of the additional features it offers. Recap: You mention over and over again how "bad" the build quality and screen glare is, and the high price. The build quality is amazing, better than most laptops in this price range. The price in inaccurate. Wait for a sale and buy the AMD version for 1k flat (or Intel for a bit more). The glare is nowhere near as bad as you make it sound. It's there, but it's not a major issue unless you're outside on a sunny day. I've never found a better time to hit the "do not recommend channel" button. Hopefully I've helped someone form a proper opinion with my re-written "review" Cheers!

@Lyrik8805 Hi, I have been looking on lenovos website, and they have a deal on Ideapad 5 pro AMD and OLED. It is so hard to find reviews on that model. I am torn between the rtx 4050 Ideapad pro (on sale for 950 usd) and the Yoga Pro 9i rtx 4060 with mini-LED (on sale for 1700 usd) I see you have the Idepad Amd-version. How is fan noise while gaming? How is the speakers?

@andreassyseth1765 I don't have exact temps, but under light and "normal" workloads it's negligible and under high workloads (ex: gaming) it's noticeable but far from uncomfortable EDIT: "negligible" and under high workloads. Fixed typo

@@Lyrik8805 Thanks, I am a bit torn between what to choose: Ideapad 5 pro AMD 8845hs, 16 gb ram, RTX 4050 6 gb, 512 gb ssd, Glossy non touch OLED for 950 USD. Yoga Pro 9i Intel ultra 9 185h, 32 gb ram, RTX 4060 8 gb, 1 tb ssd, Glossy touch mini-LED for 1700 USD. My biggest concern with the Ideapad is the speakers and fan noise. Do you how the speakers and fan noise is?
@Lyrik8805
@Lyrik8805 2 ай бұрын
@andreassyseth1765 that's a wild price range lol The speakers aren't *amazing*, but they get the job done. They (heavily) lack bass, but the laptop has Dolby Atmos, which helps a bit, though more so with headphones than the built in speakers Fan noise is pretty good in my opinion. It's *silent* with light workloads (spreadsheets, text documents, emails, ect), but it does ramp up significantly when gaming. Not to an intolerable level, but still very notable I'd also say take a look at the Legion Slim 5 Gen 9. On sale rn (at least in Canada) for the same(ish) as the IdeaPad (~1k usd). Same 8845HS but with a 4060 instead of 4050 and has a 2.8k panel vs the 2k on the IdeaPad, but it's IPS instead of OLED. I don't know much about how good it actually is so if you were to consider it you'd have to look further into it

I am confused why most of your 1st floor speeds are faster than your main floor. Should they not be slower as they are an entire floor farther away from the router? Seems like those speeds should be flipped between the main and 1st floor.
