Dr. Nina, it's Ryan Romagnoli from LivingInSyracuse. You commented on my post this last week, and I would love to connect and talk with you more about what you're looking for. I replied to your comment with my phone and email :) I would be happy to help you find the perfect fit!

Thank you for sharing your story! I too am a non traditional student. I’m finishing up my undergrad now and will be graduating at 35 and I plan on starting med school around 35 or 36. I was concerned because I’m older, married and have a child. But you definitely have inspired me. I am a doula and midwife assistant but I want to be an OBGYN to approach it with holistically and collaborate with Midwives and Doulas in my practice one day. Thank you for your inspiring story 😊

OMG! This video is so informative and I so appreciate that I ran across it. I’ve been locked a little over 5 years and have thinning in my crown area. I started off with a thin crown but now it’s thinner. I’ve been working on it all this time and I love the idea of braiding in a few strands or crocheting them into a lock. That is such a great idea. Has your loctition complained about it during your reties? I would love you to do a video of how to. Thanks for sharing this. I love the look of your locks. How often do you retie?

Your hair looks amazing. I have sister lock installed since April last year and some times I feel like cutting it off due to how it looks. Can you tell me how I stop the ends from thinning or getting weak. What would you recommend. Another thing at the top of my hair is a different texture from the back. Now that my hair has grown out there are some sections at the top which has bunch of dead hair which when it was installed it kept frizzing even though it was locked and as the wind blows it gets blown out. Now you can see it's not looking as evenly as the back of my hair, can that be fixed.
@NaturalNumi2 жыл бұрын
Thank you! I think one important thing with keeping your locks looking great is keeping your timely scheduled retightenings and if they need to repair anything that they can repair at your retightenings they should. Also going to a certified sisterlock consultant is important to especially if you don't know how to retighten yourself. I'm not sure what you mean by "dead hair" Were you completely natural when you started your locks?

Hi there Dr. Nina. I've been watching you since day one of your journey and I really appreciate that you're sharing your med school experience with us. I'll be applying at SGU this year to start next year and I would like to ask you how was your experience with financial aid. To be totally direct, I was wondering how much they give you monthly for you to pay your bills at the island. Someone told me that students get around $2000 a month, but I was thinking that this is not enough based on the rent prices at the island. Also, could you please tell us how much money you spent with the trip to Grenada, rent, etc... before getting your first refund? I just want to have an idea and I would appreciate if you could share that part of your journey with us. Thank you so much.
@NaturalNumi3 жыл бұрын
I actually don't remember but everything is very expensive! I was told you now have the option to stay in the US and take your classes versus going to the island which I would suggest. The main thing I remember is I was able to be okay with my family financially

Hi Nina! I have a questions if you don't mind me ask. I am 37 atm and up in the air about Med School. Did you take any prep courses for the MCAT? If so, which one. I am scared of my roller coaster grades/GPA will be something that Med Schools will frown upon as it shows a no so committed study habit. I was establishing my own business and working during those times but yeah, it's something I am not proud of if they were to bring it up. Also, what if I don't match into my residency program of my choice? Thank you ahead!
@NaturalNumi3 жыл бұрын
Hi thank you for reaching out! First thing I would suggest is just focusing on one thing at a time. Get into medical school first. If you're worried about your grades just make sure you do well on the MCAT. I did not take a course and my MCAT score wasn't high at all. If you can apply to broadly for medical school, definitely do that. As far as getting into a residency of your choice that comes later and you may not get your 1st choice. That's why you have a ranking system to help determine. Most people get their 2nd and 3rd choices with residencies anyway. Either way, the most important thing right now is getting in medical school. All the best! Hope this helps

@@RoadTo_MD Are you going into OB? If so, definitely join ACOG and I can mentor through that platform.
