I appreciate this series. I have a 87 I’m doing front floors and rockers on right now. Already did the tail pan, tailgate posts, and rear floor. I had problems as well with the AMD rear section of the front floor. I had to cut the notch at that point where the patch panel met the vertical cab structure. No other way I tried to fit it together would allow the weatherstrip channel to come close to the rocker panel. Just part of the process I guess!
@goodenuffcustoms3 күн бұрын
Yeah those panels are a bit of a pain! Good luck on your truck!

Next lap job, try 6 to 7 inches of 1/4 inch fuel line/vac hose. Slide over the valve stem (valve in the guide) might need a small clamp. A couple inches of 1/4-20 all thread in the other end and chuck it up in your drill. Wet your finger with oil to put pressure on the bottom of the valve. Pretty slick, high speed lapping. Bounce the valve off the seat every few seconds.

@goodenuffcustoms good stuff though, is there a follow up video on the heads/engine build?
@goodenuffcustoms7 күн бұрын
There should be a couple more where the engine is assembled. I haven’t dropped it in anything just yet to run it. I should be getting to that in the next month or two

Looks like the trick is keep plenty of clear on the applicator. I've tried it on a couple spots on a few trucks but it always came out streaky for me. Might need to go a little heavier the next attempt.
@goodenuffcustoms23 күн бұрын
The trick appears to be getting the applicator wet but not too wet. The flat surfaces aren’t too bad, but the sides are a different story.

You can do it in sections, I didn't do it that way because I couldn't imagine crawling around for the time it would take to weld it up.

@goodenuffcustomsАй бұрын
It's still here, the motor is just so tired it's puking oil everywhere. It really needs a rebuild or another motor to get it back on the road. Still thinking on that one to see what I do there.

Any tips for welding? Have done mig with thicker metal but never sheet. Was going to put my lift in but my winshield is leaking. Another problem everyday but it wont discourage me@goodenuffcustoms
@goodenuffcustoms2 ай бұрын
I may not be the best person to give welding advice, but watch your heat and move around on the thinner metal so it doesn’t warp. Get some scrap metal about the same thickness and practice on it to get the settings right on the welder
