When ever I get an unexpected email even if it’s from the NHS I don’t open it I report it as spam I then block the sender and delete it . The NHS does not even have my email address. I do the same with any email I don’t recognise.

Do you know how to make it do multiple functions such as lll=ctrl+alt+delt. i am having trouble figuring out how to have it do simultaneous functions
@JohnBatchtheflyingdoctor Жыл бұрын
If you mean picking up simultaneous key depressions, for example Ctrl+Shift+Alt+G, then: {Control} {Shift} {Alt} G=RUN: www.google.com if you want to use a key combination to create simultaneous key depressions, then this should do it: lll={controldown} {altdown} {delete} {altup} {controlup}

@@JohnBatchtheflyingdoctor hi thanks for getting back to me. I think the problem is I had the latest version. And u had the previous version. One thing is do you know how to enable "enable tags" function for files and folders; if this software provides it. Have u seen that in this software? I heard it was under file management tab but I don't see this tab anywhere lol. Thanks and hope to hear your thoughts

Once installed, you can never uninstall this program. It has a tendency to reconfigure file explorer settings in Windows 11 at the most inconvenient of times. Use this program at your own risk.
@JohnBatchtheflyingdoctor Жыл бұрын
I haven't tested it on my W11 machine. The author suggests "Try microsoft tool : The Program Install and Uninstall troubleshooter. First remove QTTabBar with this utility, then re-install and uninstall QTTabBar. These actions will clearly uninstall the product."

I wish I'd seen this video before I read all the high praise for it. It was nothing but a puzzle I could never figure out. He showed here perhaps the key that would have helped me: the View Tab then the Options menu. What I saw visi8ting the website was a looooooong user manual for explaining this puzzle. How many hours would I have to spend going through this manual just to get some tabs? I couldn't justify the time. Couldn't the instructions have been more intuitive like this video? Anyway, Windows Uninstall didn't phase this monster. Determined to get rid of it, I tried the do-all of computer search apps - Everything (that's the name of the app)! This searching program is so amazing I'm considering doing away with all filing of any sort. As I see it, with Everything, folders aren't necessary; it's just like Google Search - maybe better - type in a key word - you don't need to know where Google keeps its files. With Everything, it's the same; type in your word and voila - in a couple of secs, all key worded files appear. Amazing! I'm not very computer literate, but with Everything, when I click on it, it opens and quickly shows at once all 5 million of my files, without my doing anything else. After that, if I want a file, all I need is one key word, and I can find the file I want quickly. I can then open the folder that contains that file by right clicking and choosing the File Path, or I can just open the file. I digressed about the Everything - but it has been a marvel for me. As for QTTabBar, Everything called up around 100 files with key word QTTabBar. And when I tried to delete these with a click, they just wouldn't go. I had to repeatedly delete the files in small amounts until I got rid of them all - or so I thought. I decided to check the Registry to see if any were still there. Yep! I was able to eventually delete all but one. At least I've wiped out the helplessness I felt every time I opened Files Explorer. From reading other comments, I believe that once you install QTTabBar, you will never get rid of it unless you install a fresh operating system. I'm using Windows 10.
@kylergeston2 жыл бұрын
Really Cool! I'm a Linux as well as a Windows user and when I saw that one could open multiple tabs in Windows using QTTabBar I immediately installed this so I could have the same functionality. Linux has been doing this natively for years and it makes file management so much easier. Once installed you also get additional functions just like the blue down arrow when hovering over a folder name for example. I'm sure you could spend an hour or more explaining all the functions for this add-on. I wish that Windows would catch up and bring this on as a new feature as opposed to having to use 3rd party software.

Thank you for the video. I have a question So every time I open file explorer it shows “This Pc” but when I open other tabs and close the entire folder I don’t know how to save previous tabs. Every time I reopen file explorer it resets back to “This Pc”
@JohnBatchtheflyingdoctor2 жыл бұрын
The options to do this don't seem to work! Best alternative is to open the tabs you want, right-click the tab of the first you opened and create a new group. Now right-click and add the other tabs to the group. Now when you open file explorer, click the favourites star at the left and click the group. This will open all the tabs in the group

Hello John, unfortunately I believe qttabbar won't uninstall properly for me. I cannot open new tabs by middle-mousclicking in the left tab bar of open windows. Additionally, I don't have the new right-click menu options available - like some others. Whenever I try to install qttabbar, it gets stuck at "Creating native images", or something like that. So I force shut down my pc and re boot. And qttatbbar is there and works for the most part but I am facing some issues as mentioned. I would appreciate your expertise, thanks.

Thanks for this video. I'm not sure why, but there seem to be some settings that are preventing me from using this app. I have a new computer and for example, after installing QTTabBar, I see the icons, but when I right-click on a folder there is no option to open in a new tab, only open in a new window. Also, when I clicked on options, there were very few. If anyone knows why, maybe I can use the app, but for now, I can't. Thanks.

A work around is to open the second window, right-click in the QTTabBar icon bar and 'merge tabs of other windows'. Other people recommend going to the view tab in Explorer> options> change folder and search options. On the view tab untick 'launch folder windows in a separate process' Let me know how you get on
@robertmcnulty65963 жыл бұрын
@@JohnBatchtheflyingdoctor Thank you for your reply. Unfortunately, neither option works. For the first recommendation, the 'merge tabs of other windows' is grayed out and non responsive to a right click. For the recommendation that I untick 'launch folder windows in a separate process,' it already was unticked. I tried adding a tick and then removing it, but that didn't help. Not sure what the problem is, but I appreciate that you tried to fix this. Best, Robert

Question: What is wrong with just erasing all of the folders and putting the whole drive on there? I plan backup the whole C drive but exclude the windows folder. Does the backup system not backup sub folders? NOTE: Its ironic you answered more questions with less time than the majority of the others on the youtube. Thank you for that.
@JohnBatchtheflyingdoctor3 жыл бұрын
Therin, thanks for your positive comment and your question. Yes, you can copy the whole directory tree under the user. Personally I find that I have to remember to do this and then I only have one copy of the files. With File History backup is automated and many previous versions of a file are held. So if the latest backup is corrupted, etc., then one can go back to an earlier version that works.
