I am from across the state line in Washington County,Pa almost literally a stones throw from Meadow Croft Rock Shelter close to a small town of Avella. Im in my fortys and spent most of my life in the woods hunting and fishing in my teens through twentys and now mostly just go out digging medicinal roots, fishing, and hiking. I can say for sure I have had several encounters and let me tell you the hair will seriously stand up on the back of your neck and you will get the most intense run and don't look back feeling you will ever have. And if your ever unlucky enough to hear on roar at 100 yds or less it feels like standing in front of a speaker at a concert and the Bass vibrates every cell in your body.... Stay safe and God Bless. I really think they want to be left alone and don't mean harm but at the same time are territorial and I really do believe that they possibly are trying to get us to stay away from certain or dangerous areas.
