Looks great. Wondering if the border for the play area you bought or made yourself? If bought, what exactly is it? Also, how did you make the domino holders?
@Oakbisonbuilds2 күн бұрын
@@stevengrullon973 For the border, I cut out strips of 3/4” plywood and used a specific router bit to shape that border design on the router table. Then cut the ends to meet at the cup holders perfectly. For the domino holders i actually purchased those online to speed this build up a bit. They were very cheap for the set of four. Painted and nailed them in. But i will be building them next time.

what coating did you use? I have been wanting to make one I just dont have a planner
@Oakbisonbuilds4 ай бұрын
@@ELBeann i used a butcher block conditioner then finished it off with a 2x polyurethane. Do two coats with super light sanding with 220 grit sandpaper in between coats to keep it smooth. After that last coat lightly sand it with the same 220 grit and rub some of that conditioner back on top to get rid of the dry spots. Very simple finishing process. All sanded by hand. Very lightly till it’s smooth to the touch

Nice build, and the red oak looks good 👍 One tip for bevels is to set your blade a hair past 45° to ensure the outside joint is tight 3:53 you can see some gaps along the joint, a normal person may not notice or care but woodworkers can be picky bastards 😂
@Oakbisonbuilds6 ай бұрын
@@Tom_Swift oh yea! It was driving me nuts. Luckily they were micro gaps and after filling them with saw dust it almost looks seamless in person but they are there for sure. This is amazing advice i had no idea about! I’ll try that as soon as possible thank you! I was really hoping someone would comment with advice to help me improve 💪🏼
