Thanks for sharing. I have a slant and will be following.

Neat tips! All that oil "spraying all over the place": Does that complicate the crankcase windage issues we've learned to control with trays and screens? I'm sure you have a plan. So, I'll stay tuned to see how you deal with it. Or is that something that's not a big concern with the slant 6. Thanks! PS. Do you need a band aid for that finger?
@SlantDailyGarageКүн бұрын
@KS_Skyhawk Just use a windage screen and a scraper. It's better to have an engine that is still running with 5% less power.... than a pile of what used to be an engine that made 5% more. I design my engines more to survive while making the most power possible. I am also making a super deep sump that only has 6 quarts to keep the oil lake slosh from rod number 5 and 6.

@@SlantDailyGarage Thank you for the reply. Equipment that survives our ""abuse" is a great philosophy. Practicality is the balance. Using your head before your wallet is an example of what you and Dallas teach us.
@SlantDailyGarage12 сағат бұрын
@KS_Skyhawk correct. I never had lots of money to spend on this hobby. I had to figure out the survival of the engine with speed.

@@SlantDailyGarage I apologize for wearing you out with this string. And this is just an observation. I, and it looks like you, have a wife who is VERY understanding. I'm guessing you fix her broken washing machines, hair dryers, faucets that drip, and her automobiles. Somehow or another, ....they get just how much this hobby can consume us. A lyric in a Joe Walsh song , "I'm (We're) just lucky that way" , kind of sums it up.....at leat for me

So far the biggest I have run are 0.060 Over. The stock bore is 3.400" and these are 3.460". Depending on how my bose look after these first runs... I might Hard block the block.

Dad bought the Cuda new off lot. I get wood thinking red car, buckets , floor shift and that fold down bed ( strike bed ) insert seat. I was peering thru that big window as dad and the salesman appeared. When dad asked about an optional curtain, I thought YUK! It'd look like shit. What would friends say? He said, to salesman "my son will need a curtain on a date... so he'll have some privacy when he's parked with his girlfriend." . Ya buddy!!! Desert Dart or NNN? Are you stuffing a late model Hemi into that space? That old saying" Nothing exceeds like excess," certainly applies if hemi is the word. Your wife must be a very understanding lady. Because, that's almost a requirement for hobbies like ours.

I'm confused...and a bit late to finding you and Dallas summer 2024ish. My curiosity was piqued by the Baja run. Then I see NNN for this title. I asked about torsion bars 10-9-2024 AHRA. You did answer my question. I will follow this build having owned a 65 Cuda that I put in a 68 Dart 340 Commando. Ran great. 9-1/2 drums w scintered linings hardly helped. That Cuda had the best back seat an 18year old could dream of.

With that massive oil pan, you're losing oil pressure on the brakes ? It must not have a swinging sump.
