I did some theatre growig up, joseph, bugsey malone, les mis but to practice this and actuall pull it off in high school. is impressive and an audition executied at the hihest level.

I found this clip years ago. There are a LOT of videos of this number from different productions- but this one is off the charts. Why? For me, listen to the audience-they went wild several times at key points in choreography. And rightfully so.

The sound recording was "less than optimal" but I really enjoy this show and I will watch and enjoy all of it by lack of a complete posting of the Disney version here. Congratulations for this great laymen performance!!!

I love this version of the song I also want to say I am happy of being gay because of this song ❤ for all the men that need a brotherhood you belong. Also this song isn't justice without watching the performance you are all amazing thank you for this.

have seen this many times over the years (always impressed each time), but only now did i wonder: did anyone from this production go on to the Jimmy Awards in NY that year? that male lead (Sean?) deserve a top 5 in the Jimmys. 👍🏼❤️

@@annepoyner499thanks for responding and yeah, that was really sad. i did more research about your reply and found that this specific production won for Costume & Lighting in that year's edition. the high school theater groups in your area may all have been truly exceptional, as the awards seemed to be well-distributed. glad to know young Sean McManus did earn a special scholarship award. and please, send my awesome congratulations to the director. this video (and others from the same production) are periodically being recommended by KZbin. 😉👍🏼👍🏼👏🏼 hoping you're still inspiring student-artists/future theater stars, Ms. Anne, whether still in Summit HS or otherwise. ❤

I like to thank these students for putting on such a fantastic performance they are truly artists. On a side note absolute shame on the director for just copying what he saw on Broadway and in the movies with no original thought behind his set production choreography or staging. This is the problem with high school theater directors they don't take the time to do things and be creative on their own they just steal somebody else's idea.
