Hello, excellent video. I would like to know how long it took for your machine to arrive since they do not have excellent reviews on Trustpilot about shipping time. I am about to buy mine, but that stops me since I have to wait 3 to 4 Months, which is too long. Still, there are cases that take much longer. How was the delivery time for you?
@MattMolnar1011 күн бұрын
Shipping time was several months for me, but that was typical with Aeon laser. However, I understand that they are getting things out much quicker. I would strongly encourage you to give them a call, they are excellent to work with, they will not pressure you for a sale. Great buying experience really.

How did you determine how high/low to mount the bags? I’m thinking the I want the top of the hard bag to be flush w the top of the passenger seat. That way I would have a wide flat service to mount a large soft bag if needed Or mount lower like you did for more space on top of the bag I can’t decide. Thank you for this video

Hey Matt. You reminded me of myself when you went to mark charge in Artisan with the mouse. Grabbing the mouse and zeroing in on the onscreen button was not timely for me so I started using a feature in Artisan that cut lag time down to no more than a second. THIS IS THE ARTISAN FEATURE: If you are using Artisan to roast with, here is another option to mark events while roasting. You can mark the roasting events using the SPACE BAR to mark a roast event and move to the next. Enable and disable this feature by hitting the RETURN/ENTER key. Once enabled the event to be marked is highlighted. Tapping the SPACE BAR will mark CHARGE and move the highlight to DRY END. Tap SPACE BAR again and DRY END will be marked and the highlight moved to FC START. Use the LEFT and RIGHT ARROW keys to move the highlight manually. When using this mode the buttons are still available to click with the mouse. Auto CHARGE and Auto DROP still work as normal. My accuracy with timing improved with this method. I can open the bean charge chute, hit the spacebar, and hit the timer button on the roaster within 2 seconds. I am roasting some delicious coffee with my BC-2 as I'm sure you are. They are solid roasters.

I dont get companies now days, some of them are charging so much for so little. its because again as Americans we will pay whatever which keeps costs up... don't buy it guess what costs comes down... There are other companies out there that are bigger and better and have inside sleep options for the same price as this one.. and have been taken off road and put to hell and back.... people need to shop around.

When you changed the pressure guage out from LPG to natural gas, did you access the area to unconnect and connect the new gauge from the front upper panel or from the back of the roaster? I have the orifices and gauge in hand and plan to swap them out at some point in the future. At present, I have two 20 lb propane cylinders to use up and that may take a while.

@@MattMolnar10 I purchased a BC-2 the beginning of April and I agree the gauge works great. Thanks for the video. I have natural gas service within 5 feet of where I roast so I may switch over from propane. I'm currently planning my permanent exhaust system.
@MattMolnar106 ай бұрын
@@the_original_mathwiz Congratulations on the roaster! Mine has been working steadily without any issues. The biggest maintenance item is keeping the squirrel cage fins clean. When your MAGRFHELIC gauge doesn't respond as readily to air adjustments as it did, you'll know your fins are clogging up.
@the_original_mathwiz4 ай бұрын
@@MattMolnar10 I agree about keeping the fins clean on the exhaust fan. I don't roast the volume you do, so keeping mine clean is a fairly simple task. I purchased a soft bristle tooth brush and heated the handle just behind the head with a butane torch to modify the angle to be more accessible inside the cage. It works very well to brush the particles away quickly and efficiently. Like Randy Harper says, "air flow is the life of the roaster". I finished my Pellet Duravent exhaust setup through the back of my garage wall. It was a very interesting experience to drill a 7-inch hole through a brick wall. Everything came out great and I am now ready to continue roasting when cold weather arrives.
@MattMolnar104 ай бұрын

@@MattMolnar10, hey Matt, me again. I'm good with the Artisan .aset file as I figured it out. I have been using a 6ft straight pipe to exhaust my BC-2 in my garage, but I am ready to put a hole in the wall to vent properly. I am curious about your exhaust wall setup. Would you mind sharing info on what you have? I cannot find anything that looks like your setup. It appears to function well in your video. Thanks in advance for any help you may provide. Mike Mathis
@MattMolnar105 ай бұрын
@@the_original_mathwiz Hi Mike! I had a friend fabricate the exhaust setup you see with a blast gate. I can close it in the winter when I'm not roasting to prevent subzero air from coming into my roaster/shop. That being said, I don't really close the blast gate much because if you close the air flow dial on the roaster it will limit how far the cold air can infiltrate. If you find someone who installs pellet stoves or similar devices they should be able to setup you up for exhaust.
