Xx Xx The only full Japanese swordsmanship I know of is kenjutsu (I say full as the other swordsmanship I know of, kendo, is more of a simplified form of kenjutsu, as there are less stances and approaches to attack). I'm not sure if the style these men are using is kenjutsu but it's the best guess I could come up with (I do recognize the high stance with the sword being raised above the head for a downward strike). Do pardon my ignorance.

Sunny Chen While it has a better chance at killing or at least seriously injuring your opponent than throwing a pommel, you'd risk losing your weapon and be unarmed and vulnerable if the opponent dodges or deflects the sword away.

紫暮龍誉 So that gives the the right for japanese cunts to commit atrocities to half of the planet? I guess you dont get the picture here kid.. i might be a fan of japan but i didint sell my balls to japan and become ignorant as fuck not to see the reality of the good and bad side of japan.. im not from US.. but i know god damn well what history has said about the civil war and the red indians.. but i sure as damn well also recognize the good things about the scientific and cultural contributions of the US... so if you want to be the over bias dumb ignorant bitch that sees only the pro side of japan.. then be my guest... but you gotta see the shit side of japan too.. no ppl on the planet have the right to white wash the bullshit they have done and no great contributions should be ignored... but unfortunately for you.. japan owns your dick and the rest of your balls.. so you got nothing else but sucking up to their cunts.. and you selling off your heritage and your identity.. and now you are bitching to me because you regret what you have done and your bitterness of your social failures,deep inside theres nothing special about you but being a japanophile for the japanese to learn some english..well congratulations.. cheers to you..

紫暮龍誉 And what about the Japanese attitude towards the Chinese? Denying that the Rape of Nanking happened? At least the Holocaust Deniers are a minority in Germany, but the Japanese completely deny these actions. 300,000 raped and murdered. Innocent civilians. The facts that you say is true, many countries have their own dark past, but none of them deny it. They know it has happened and accept it. Japan actively denies it happens, skipping over the fact that their forefathers committed atrocities on humankind in textbooks and sometimes, when they do admit it, they downplay it to say it was only a fraction, 42,000. Onto another point, the Japanese are turning away from sex and sexual reproduction as a society. While the older generation require heirs, they themselves do not produce an heir and sometimes adopt an adult to take over their company. The Japanese, like the Chinese, are a very homogeneous society and does not practice exogamy, that is, they do not generally marry outsiders (Non-Japanese) if they were to even marry. So what you said about knight2battle is correct, a Japanese woman wouldn't look at him, yet at the same time a Japanese woman wouldn't even look at you, so I think that statement is, while valid, weak as an insult. You also have to understand right now that Japan's economy WILL fail. Their public debt is over 200% of their GDP at over 10 trillion USD. Coupled to the fact that their population is declining very fast and them being a homogeneous society who are against immigration makes this a recipe for disaster. While Japan may be great right now, I certainly am not jealous of anybody living in japan. High rates of suicide, low reproduction, a dying economy and population. No matter how good it was or is, everything comes to an end. Plus, white chicks are hot as fuck. TL;DR - STFU cunt, go away with your weeaboo bullshit.

that wasn't implied at all... especially since no one they would fight had spared with bokuto either. if it's consensual and the risk is known there shouldn't be a problem. unprotected sparing is the historical norm. if you have a job where an injury would threaten your security you likely aren't a higher level dan where real sparring would make a difference, it's similar to boxing you can spar all you want, but nothing is the same as the experience you get from a real fight in the ring.
@strangeluvmd
@strangeluvmd 10 жыл бұрын
sigh... of course kenjutsu has little personal defense value in this day and age, I never said it did. a higher level of swordsmanship is swordsmanship practiced by higher level dans. and traditionally(before modern kendo and iado regulations) bokuto sparing was a common place thing in Japanese dojos. it was considered essential at the higher levels(which I have defined for you) to further develop skills. back then it was for self defense and warfare, though the purpose can be changed.

"higher" levels rofl. Do you know how a sword works son? You put the pointy edge into the bad guy. What is a higher level of swordsmanship? Is the burgler going to have a katana? You obviously have no idea what you're talking about at all. You don't even lift bro.
@MeliorIlle
@MeliorIlle 10 жыл бұрын
Yes you did, you implied because they aren't sacrificing their bodies(which in of itself was fucking retarded) that they somehow have inefficient skills or can't defeat their opponent because they don't use full contact. You think "real" sparring would be helpful because you've never done it. It hurts incredibly bad whether you use pads or not. People have jobs, responsibilities, they don't need to be limping and wobbling around their office or work space.

how can kenjutsu be a practical martial art(though I do respect it highly) when you can't carry a sword with you? kendo is something else entirely, it's not a martial art, it's a sport. not that that's a bad thing.
@strangeluvmd

I never said anything about the skill or technique of these men. so whether I can beat them or not has nothing to do with anything I said the modern aversion to the bokuto sparring of ages past is not a good thing. I think that real sparring can be extremely helpful in advancing in the higher level of kenjutsu. please figure out what i'm talking about before throwing out insults.

Yeah, and that's a good point for say, fistfighting, or knife-fighting as well. Unlike in movies and anime and manga and stuff (although cool!), in real life, your chances of survival decrease incredibly when you get hit. That's *when*. Bad guys in real life are unlikely to give you a chance to get up.
