Hello from Italy ...i am reading the biography of Saint Saens and looks for some pieces his biography mentions....this is a piece of the end of his life more or less. There is a beautiful theme at the beginning....❤ thanks a lot !

Музыка красивая. Сурен Багратуни - редкой музыкальной красоты исполнитель. Жаль только, не знаю, как правильно ударение ставить в его фамилии... Первый раз его услышала в Концертном зале Мариинского театра в 2023 году (он был членом жюри конкурса им. П.И. Чайковского). Прямо влюбилась в его звук и в его игру. 😊 Вот ждём следующего конкурса Чайковского... Всей семьёй! 🙂 Вдруг снова приедет??! 🙂😊 Камерный оркестр тоже прекрасно звучит. 👍 Жаль, что так мало просмотров... От всей души желаю успехов вашему каналу. И просто успехов! 🙂🌹

Morgen is not from Strauss' Four Last Songs. It is the last in the song cycle Opus 27. Strauss' Vier Letzte Lieder (Four Last Songs) is a completely separate work written over 40 years after Morgen.

I saw Deborah play once at a recital at Michigan State in 1985.. it was the Schubert A major sonata.. was a great performance too!

Another beautiful concerted piece by Saint-Saens, who continued to write beautiful works until his last breath! As Martin Cooper pointed out in his book on French Music, the entire world of music was turned upside down with the premier of Stravinsky's Rite of Spring. this is a superb performance, thank you to all involved.

Could a work like this be called a "Symphony" ? I think it could, not that it matters. It might not fit in to the sequence of the 2 other earlier well-spaced numbered symphonies. Gloria Coates 17 numbered symphonies punctuate her works & help give an overall sense of her output. Merab Gagnidze (Georgia 1944- ) now over 90 symphonies old is a further extreme. Merzie Khalitova (b.1956) is slowly gaining ground with 6 granite Symphonies, from Uzbek-CrimeaTartar-Ukrainian-nowRussian background.

Plenty of severe music including the first appearance of chorus. A touch of softer "Saraton" textures (20') soon gives way to a blast from choir & orchestra, but there is less tension... the mood changes to OTT Hollywood Mahler & a brazen choral finish, or so it seems... effective quiet coda brushes away the hysteria.
